We say that every day . . at least twice every day.
Both of us watch realtor.com because it’s kinda entertaining to see the crazy prices and how quickly a house is marked as “pending” after having been listed. It would not be entertaining if we were first time home buyers or needed to find a home NOW and couldn’t wait around til things calm down . . if they ever calm down.
Last night we found a house in Carthage. It’s on a creek, has 7 acres, has a well. The house isn’t as perfect for us as this one is (it’s two story with a basement so basically three story). The unfinished basement was set up for a shop with a nice dust collection system. Vince thought that was great. I’d prefer his shop and wood working NOT be in the basement. It did have an out building that may or may not work for a shop.
I could see the wheels turning in Vince’s head. He was thinking . . we bought a house before selling a house and it worked out well. What if we’re not so lucky this time?
I was thinking . . moving! Packing! Getting Boots adjusted to a new place. It would be about 20 to 25 miles farther from Addie. We’re in the absolute perfect place for Addie now as far as picking her up. We’re on their side of Joplin so they can easily drop her off and then go do what they want to do and come back by here. When they’re going to Louisiana, they can leave the night before, drive the first 45 minutes of the 12 hour trip, spend the night here, then finish the trip the next day.
Last night Vince said . . want to call the realtor? I said . . let’s wait til morning and see how we feel.
This morning we both said “We’re never moving again!” So . . we’re not even looking at it.

I was going to say “The both of you need your heads examined!!” lol… I think you got the perfect setup now. Not that it’s my business. @@

Me too. The creek, the well, the 7 acres . . it was all very appealing but it’s totally out in the woods with no one else around and that was one thing we love about our current house. If something happened to one of us, the other would be fine living here alone, at least for 10 years or so. Out in the woods like the other house is, I probably wouldn’t spend the first night alone there.

When you’ve found paradise, why replace it?

If we found one place that had water, a well, a good garden spot, a great house and a place for Vince’s shop, that would fit our needs just a little better . . not that our needs aren’t being met now but not having a well makes it rather expensive to keep a garden and the trees going. Vince would love to live on the water or have a “man cave” on the water but neither of us want two places to maintain.
I doubt we ever do it because we just don’t have the desire to move again.
