In a comment, someone wrote jokingly (maybe) “You two need your heads examined!” I think she may be right. This evening Vince said “I believe we have more to take care of here than we had in Texas. No. Not true. We had 60 fruit trees, a lot of chickens and a huge garden. But, we seem to be adding daily to our resonsibility list.
This morning Vince asked if I wanted to run to Walmart with him really quickly to get a couple of things he needed, then come home and have a late breakfast. I had a couple of things I needed to get done and by the time we left for Walmart, it was almost 10 a.m. As we were walking out to the car, Vince said “I feel like a Babe’s hamburger.” We had milk and a few other cold things in the car so we ran home and dropped them off and went back to Babe’s for a burger.
They have the best burgers!
On the way home we stopped by Atwoods because I needed shepherd’s hooks for my hummingbird feeders so we got two of the tall ones. Vince put one in the ground but when he put the other one in, it broke, so he had to go back to Atwoods to return it. That was trip #3 to town.
He came home and started looking at hooks for hummingbird feeders. I told him I’d like to have some that hook onto the deck so he searched for those and found some at Lowe’s. The Carthage Lowe’s only had three but the Joplin Lowe’s had 7 so we went back to town (trip #4).
From the bottom, it looks like someone is fishing over the edge of a pier!
Addie will love the hot air balloon feeder. I also have another one like the one in the middle and it’s at the front, outside the dining room window.
This is my favorite! It’s solar and it will light up at night (or it’s supposed to . . we’ll see tonight though there hasn’t been much sun this afternoon).
If it lights up, I’ll take a picture and share it.
The cutest thing of all . .
It’s a hummingbird swing!! I’m sure Addie is going to try to turn it into a doll swing. We’ll see what the hummingbirds think about it!
All the bird feeders have “juice” in them. I didn’t put a lot juice in them til the hummingbirds find them. I hope the lady at our house in Texas is filling the feeders. We left them all there but I don’t know if Vince told her how many hummingbirds we always have.
A friend here in MO just down the road has a dozen or more feeders and there are always lots of little hummers at her house so I’m hopeful we’ll have a few.

Where is the solar feeder from?
Judy Laquidara says
We found it at Lowe’s.

Hi Judy
Ooh I’m so jealous, never seen a humming bird for real. No such luck here in the UK. Love to see pics if you have any when they arrive. So many trips in one day, felt dizzy. I would be in a permanent nap after so many.
Judy Laquidara says
Oh! That’s kinda sad that you’ve never seen one but I’m sure you have beautiful things that we don’t see often in our part of the world. We’ve been lucky to always have plenty of them where we’ve lived.

I have that hot air balloon one, too. I really need to fill and hang it if the yard ever dries up enough to walk in it again!

I have always hung mine in the shade as I thought the hot Texas sun would heat up the sugar water too ot for them to drink. Once again you have me on a mission to find that solar feeder. I like fun looking things in the yard.

We had ours in the shade in Texas too but I put these on the deck thinking Addie and I could watch them from the breakfast room. I’m going to pick up more when I find more that are glass and hang them in and around the trees because I do think the water will get pretty hot in the sun, even here – at least now through probably September.
