I tried to take pictures and kinda put what’s where in perspective but looking at the pictures, I probably didn’t do a very good job.
The little road in front of our house is a dead end. Just our house and one more so if you’re driving down our little road towards the main road, this is the view you’d see first of our house/yard. There’s a two car garage you probably can’t see and the Honda and Highlander stay in there. There’s a single car garage there by the walk through door and if we wanted to put the pickup in the garage, we could put the Honda in the one car garage side (because it’s shorter and there’s a fridge and freezer in there in the way) and then the pickup would fit next to the Highlander but til we get the shop, there’s too much other stuff in the garage and it just has to sit out. There’s also a single car garage downstairs but it doesn’t have a door opener and it’s more full of “stuff” than the upstairs garage. It’s air conditioned so it will eventually be the room where Vince sets up his 3D printers. The shop will be air conditioned too but it will be dusty from the woodworking and Vince doesn’t want the 3D printers around that.
Back to the pictures, those are the new plum and peach trees Vince planted. See that post near the back . . oh, you can see two of them. That’s where the raspberries will be planted. Only two are planted so far.
This view looks out towards the fruit trees. House is on the right, solar panels on the left.
From our back deck, this is the view . . solar panels! Love the solar panels and what they produce but don’t so much love the view so Vince is building a trellis and we’ll plant wysteria that will cover the trellis but we’ll still be able to see the tops of the solar panels — just not the things Vince has stored under them! We have two wysteria (between the third post and the control panel). They were all sold out by the time we started looking for them so we’ll probably have to wait til next year to plant more.
They are growing so much already – even all rootbound in those pots.
This is the back. Solar panels are to the left. Obviously the grass cutter isn’t going up around the raised beds. Vince put a couple of batteries on to charge so hopefully one of us will get out there and cut the weeds tomorrow.
The front left bed is strawberries. The long one behind it is asparagus. The middle front is peppers and squash. I’ve already picked some squash! The long one behind it is tomatoes. the front right bed is peppers, dill and parsley. The long bed behind it is okra. I’m not betting the farm that we’ll get okra but . . can’t say I didn’t try.
The little black barrel looking thing on the right side between the raised beds and the house is my compost bin we brought from Texas. The windows you see at ground level are two of the four windows in the sewing room.
The 14 new trees (Little Giants) are on the right side of the house (if you’re facing the back).
That’s about it for perspective . . not very good, huh?
