Yesterday was Day 1 . . that’s easy because it started on the first of the month. So long as I know what the date is, I should be able to keep up with which day I’m on.
I cross stitched til late into the night last night. I can’t do that every night. I’m thinking I’ll fix breakfast, then go back to bed because I didn’t get much sleep . . just couldn’t get to a stopping point on the stitching.
Here’s the pattern so you can kinda see where I am.
Yesterday I got the top border and the left border done. I started on the top branch.
Here’s my plan for today . . and the rest of the project really.
- I’m only going to do the top two branches and only til they start that downard curve just in case my spacing isn’t right and I need to extend them, along with the tree out to the right.
- The right half of the leaves is Weeks Kentucky Bluegrass and I don’t have it. There’s a DMC number but I don’t have that either. The left side is Weeks Putty and that blends in too much with the fabric so I need to decide what color to make the right side of the leaf, then I can choose a darker gold for the left side of the leaf. We may go out today (hope not) but if we do, I can run by Hobby Lobby and get the color I need for the right side of the leaf and go from there.
- If I don’t end up with floss for the leaf, I should have the Kentucky Bluegrass by the weekend so I’ll just put off the leaves til then.
- I’ll do the words . . then I can start on the house.
- Once the house is done I can finish the tree, do the right border and the bottom border.
- I’ll be done.
Maybe I’m being optimistic but I think I can get this done without too much trouble.

Judy sounds like a plan. I was looking at the Sulky site yesterday–do you know they have a conversion page for DMC to Sulky 12? Just in case you need it.

Good progress! I got the edges of my fabric zigzagged, but my plan is to work on it later this week. I did have fun going through Instagram and seeing all the projects people picked.

Love the fabric you chose.
