Yesterday I read something that made me think about a decorating plan. Just go along with me and pretend that I’ll get a lot of stitching done and framed in my lifetime.
One lady said she had grown up surrounded by forest but now she lives in a city so she’s stitching projects to go on her “forest wall”. I’ve wanted to have a sampler wall where I could hang different samplers. I have a spot chosen for that wall. Then I started thinking maybe I could do a patriotic wall. Why would have to put my flags and Americana type projects out just during May – July? My chair kinda sits in the corner and I could easily put five or six small patriotic pieces there. When you walk in our front door, there’s a small wall to the left. As I’ve looked at “welcome” pieces, I’ve had a hard time choosing which one I’d like. Why not make that a “welcome wall”? I could put several “Welcome” pieces there. They wouldn’t even have to say “Welcome”. I have a couple of charts like “Love Abides Here”, and things like that.
I really don’t have a lot of wall space. I have lots of windows and lots of openings.
I’ll probably use the Command hanging strips for the smaller pieces so I can always put them up and if I don’t like the layout, take it down and put it somewhere else.
If you ever watch Saltbox Stitcher’s youtubes, I love the sampler wall behind her. Here – just look at this one and go over to 3:03.
Just a thought . .

… That’s a great idea and your June project would look great by the door to welcome people. And, until you get more of your samplers finished, you can always fill in the spots with other pieces such as frames found at flea markets with printouts of sayings.
I also have specific walls in areas of my home. I used to have a cat, so I have a watercolor of a cat, two small needlepoint canvases of cats that were done by my Grandmother, and a cross stitch sampler with a cat, done by my sister, and a crewel work piece of an English cottage that was at my grandmother’s home. This wall is in the hallway to my bedroom, so I always smile when I pass by these items.

All the decor in our home was either made by me/family/friend or I purchased directly from the artist. I do have 1 Monet print-Water Lilies, framed and on the wall behind my Long-Arm. But I’m finishing up a quilt this month that will be going on that wall. So down it comes. I’ve enjoyed it long enough.
So yes, I’m all in support of stitching walls 🙂

My guest room is my patriotic room. I have many red/white/blue quilt wallhangings hung in there. The quilt on the bed is a blue/white scrappy Bonnie Hunter quilt. I love red/white/blue quilts and things that are patriotic. I leave these out year round as they mean something to me.

I love your idea! I went and looked at the video you linked to and the sampler wall looks great! I had three cross stitch patterns from the same designer (back when I was into it) and always hung them as a grouping. Still need to go through my threads to see if I have the right colors to make another of the one I gave to my cousin.
