Remember the freeze dryer? It’s been sitting, not even plugged in, since about the middle of September – a bit more than eight months. It’s all set up downstairs but had never been hooked up. All it took to hook it up was plug the pump into the back of the freeze dryer and plug the freeze dryer into the wall, add oil to the pump and hit “start”. I guess we hadn’t done it sooner because we didn’t really have anything to freeze dry.
In fact, I had considered selling it before we moved here since I didn’t anticipate having a garde or fruit trees. I’m glad I didn’t sell it because we surely would not have bought another one.
Early this afternoon a friend called and she had come across a great deal on strawberries and was going to pick some up and wanted to know if I wanted any. With the freeze dryer not hooked up, I wasn’t sure what I would do with them but asked her to get me two flats. They are gorgeous and yummy so I’m gladl I had her get them and glad Vince hooked up the freeze dryer.
Look at that beauty! It never made it to the freeze dryer.
It’s nice to see the freeze dryer in action again and it’s nice to be loading it without a cat around. It was always a bit of a struggle in Texas because of Boots but now, the freeze dryer is in a room without any animals.
