I definitely feel my age after a weekend with Addie. Sometimes, the most tiring part of the weekend is playing referee and trying to keep peace between Vince and Addie. Grumps definitely lived up to his name this past weekend!
She’s no trouble to have around so I don’t know why I feel so tired at the end of the weekend. I get up and check on her several times at night. I don’t know why I do that. She doesn’t know why I do it . . I suppose I’ll always do it. We ate out Friday night but then ate all our meals at home Saturday and Sunday. Sometimes that’s a bit . . not tiring but maybe mentally tiring because so much of what we eat, she doesn’t like – mainly because they don’t eat it at their house. I explained to her that if she had never had sushi and I tried to get her to taste it now, she’s too picky . . he wouldn’t and she’d miss out. She said “Did you say we’re having sushi tonight!” I said “No! I said . . you need to eat a little bit of everything I cook just to try it!” Kids!
After taking her halfway to meet her parents yesterday afternoon, i walked into the house and she had colored four pictures for me and put them on the fridge. She’s so sweet but look what she used for refrigerator magnets!
That’s the magnetic ties I use for my cross stitching. I have several sets and when the first set arrived, she thought they were so cool so I divided them up and gave her half of them.

That’s just adorable! How thoughtful of her to surprise you with her pictures! I understand about the tired feeling, I’m usually exhausted after spending time with the girls, even when I mostly sit on the floor to play with them! But it’s always a good tired!

Perhaps as Addie watches you cook, and maybe tastes them along the way, she will be more willing to try more dishes. I find that just having guests in the house can wear me out. My mind sort of runs around trying to adjust everything to fit everyone’s needs. Very wearing.

I am an old woman(67) who basically lives by herself even though he lives here. I do not run the tv, radio or any noise all day. So when I have company I think the noise tires me out as much as anything. And when Sadie is here I love to hear everything she has to say to me.

I think that may be part of it. Just being on alert that she may be coming in at any minute though she’s really good about playing by herself, coloring, drawing, playing games on her tablet, playing with her dolls, etc.

I thought that was so cute when I saw it.
