I know this isn’t Memorial Day weekend. The name of the chart I’m working on is Memorial Day.
You see all the white stitching in the red stripes? I’m not sure I’m going to do that. I like the red without all the white and the white in the red stripe seems a bit like clutter.
It’s something I would do after all the stitching so I’ll do all the stitching, then decide.
Dotti Wahlers says
It helps show the ripples in the flag.
Sarah F. says
I’m with you Judy. I don’t particularly care for the white on the red stripes.
montanaclarks says
How in the world are you seeing where to place your stitches in that cloth?? I love that piece–and I too would leave out the stitching in the red.
Paula Nordt says
I, personally, don’t care for all the little hatchy marks on the red. Leave them off if you want to.
Nelle Coursey says
I think it is up to you. I don’t think I would do it either.
Teri says
I agree with you on the white in the red….
Joyce says
I think the white gives it the extra “bulk” it needs between the red stripes. I think it will look odd without it, but if you like it, go for it.
Joyce says
I take it back! I just re-read the post. I misunderstood what you were talking about. I could take or leave the white on top of the red stripes.
Helene says
I’m getting that chart and fabric and floss today and it will be my Memorial Day weekend project. Yours is looking beautiful. I hadn’t noticed the white stitching on the red stripes. I guess I’ll decide when I finally get that far.
