It seems like life is starting to get back to normal, at least around here. When we left Texas and got to Missouri, being closer to Chad, the Farmers’ Market, lots of good restaurants, etc., I told Vince that I didn’t realize how much more alive I feel here. It’s the same without masks. I didn’t realize how isolated I felt in stores wearing a mask. No one seemed to look anyone in the eye; everyone seemed to avoid making any kind of contact. I’m not saying masks were a bad thing .. I just feel like the world seems more friendly without the masks.
We went into Aldi this evening and this was the first time I’ve seen this sign. Other stores may have them but I haven’t noticed. Honestly, I doubt anyone who never wore a mask and isn’t vaccinated is going to read this sign and put on a mask. I’m quite sure people will say they’re vaccinated if asked, whether they’re vaccinated or not but I doubt anyone will ask.
This post isn’t meant to start a debate about masks or not, vaccinations or not . . just an interesting sign and how I feel not wearing a mask 100% of the time. I still wear a mask some, depending on where we are. If it’s a crowded place (which we rarely go where it’s crowded) or a shop has a sign asking everyone to wear a mask, I’m fine wearing a mask but this evening, there were few people in Aldi and I was comfortable not wearing it. We were in a nursery this afternoon – outside the entire time and, we didn’t wear masks.

I think those signs are very trusting. As you said, I doubt anyone is going to ask. Here in California, we’re waiting until June 15 before dropping the mask mandate. Since I have over a week until full immunity, I’m OK with that!

Anti-vaxxers….hmmmm, will they start wearing masks to show they don’t believe in a vacc? LOL.
I am fully vaccinated. I will continue to wear a mask near children who don’t have a choice. Adults with a choice are on their own.

Friday I didn’t wear a mask in Wal-Mart. I felt a little bit naked, but it was such a relief to be able to breathe and not feel hot or like I was suffocating. I didn’t realize that breathing felt so difficult with the mask (while walking around) until I wasn’t wearing one.

I do feel naked without it too.

I still wear one depending on the situation. I feel naked without one too. I’m still not ready to spend time with a crowd indoors.

I can’t think of the last time I was in a crowded place . . we just don’t go out much but I probably still wouldn’t go somewhere that’s crowded – indoors or outdoors.

I have discovered by wearing a mask this last year, my allergies and sinus problems are less than normal. I guess it is doing good by keeping the pollen out! I will still wear a mask when I go to a place like Walmart or any crowded store. But like you, when I am outside I may or may not wear one. I think it is up to the individual and the situation.

My husband says, “if the sign says wear a mask, you should wear one.” Me: I’ve been fully vaccinated and a month after the second shot I still got Covid. Granted, it was a very mild case, but I hated wearing a mask, so unless I’m asked to, I probably won”t wear one, regardless what the signs at stores say….

I don’t think I’ve seen a sign requiring a mask except in the Mexican grocery for over a month. Yes, if there’s a sign saying a mask is required, I either leave without going in or wear a mask.

We are still in lockdown here and nothing is open except grocery stores and drug stores. All products except groceries are covered with plastic at Walmart and declared non essential. It’s supposed to be like this till June 2nd if people did what they were supposed to do this past long weekend. Masks are required in all stores.
I have only had my first shot so far as vaccines have been in short supply until a week ago so I am hopeful my 2nd shot will be moved up. We are safe tho and healthy and numbers are coming down. I am grateful for that
