My goal last night before going to bed was to get the flags started on the Memorial Day stitching. I had to cheat just a little because I hadn’t finished the pole on the right side but I stopped stitching on it and started the flag just so I could go to bed feeling like I met my goal. How’s that for writing your own rules?
Honestly, I felt like I had been stitching with taupe or dark gray thread for days and days and I needed a bit of color so doing a bit of stitching with the blue was nice.
It would be nice if I could get a whole flag done today but I get to go pick up Addie so my stitching time today, Saturday and Sunday will be limited. Mostly she entertains herself but if she wants to go out and ride the Hoverboard, or do anything outside, I want to be out with her. I always feel like she and I should play games or work puzzles or do something crafty together but sometimes, she’s happy to read, play a computer game or watch Youtube so, especially while school’s going on, I cut her some slack on weekends.
I don’t know if Chad and Nicole are going to come get her or if I’ll meet them halfway and hand her off on Sunday. I think they have so much to do and coming here, eating, visiting, always helping do a few things we need done, . . that ends up taking at least four hours, sometimes five, out of their Sunday so I’m thinking I’ll just meet them halfway with her this week. I’ll miss having them for dinner but I won’t have to cook a huge meal. There’s a trade off for everything I suppose.

I just had my 5-year-old grandson for a sleepover while Mom and Dad went out for a nice anniversary dinner. So many hugs and kisses and I love yous. My heart is full. He moves up and out from preschool tomorrow. So if we don’t drown from rain, will see them again tomorrow. Life is good. So glad you moved closer to Addie. I have other grands but I moved to be closer to this one when I never got to see the others because of distance. Sometimes it only comes around once.

What is the blue magnetic (I think) fabric wrap (I would call it)?
I’ve been seeing those on flosstubes but don’t know where to look for them since I don’t know what they are called! Do you like it?
Judy Laquidara says
I’m going now to do a blog post about them.

You and Addie should look up frommycarolinahome.com and read about the rock painting and leaving them about. I planning to this with Sadie when she comes to visit. I am hoping that Addie one day has a desire to do all your needle work.
Judy Laquidara says
We did the rock painting when she was in Texas last summer and we left some around in parking lots (near the trees) and in parks but I’ll find the link you referenced and show it to her this summer when we can do the painting outside.

Don’t want to say anything to scare you but the little girl “Amber” that the Amber Alert was named for was snatched from near her grandmother’s yard. It is always a good thing to keep an eye on kids playing outside. Especially if they are riding a bike, hoverboard, etc. You never know if or when they are going to fall!
Judy Laquidara says
Oh, you don’t scare me. She never goes outside if I’m not with her, especially now that we live in plain sight of so many.
