Our life here is so different from our life in Texas. It’s funny and every night Vince says “Did you think we’d ever be doing this?” No!
Today Vince and I both went and got our hair cut. A friend recommended a hair cutter not far from home and I liked her a lot and like how she cut my hair. Glad to have found her.
After we got back and ate a late lunch, Vince went and visited with a friend in the neighborhood.
He had been home about an hour and the doorbell rang. It was another friend from down the street. He came in and stayed for a couple of hours. He’s very interesting and knows so much about the history of this area. He grew up here and he also knows a lot about many things so Vince and I were both asking lots of questions. We enjoy picking his brain.
When he left, his wife called. She’s the cross stitching friend. I don’t think she even knew her husband had been here for a while. We wanted to go cut more rhubarb so she said “come on over” so we did. She wanted to show me a needlepoint piece she had just gotten from the framer and a cross stitch piece she was working on. Both were beautiful. By the time we cut the rhubarb (He does cut his with a knife!), it was almost dark when we got home.
It’s after 8 p.m. now. I’m going to cross stitch for a while but I’m so happy to have friends here and not feel like a hermit.

I always cut my rhubarb and wondered why it never reproduced. A friend told me not to cut it but to pull it from the bottom where it joins the plant. Now my rhubarb lasts all summer, it just keeps producing.

Here we’re supposed to stop harvesting towards the end of June. It’s his rhubarb. If he wants it cut, I’ll cut it but I’ll pull and twist my own when it starts producing.

So happy for you and Vince. The move to Missouri was perfect for you both.

I am glad both of you have found friends there. This should make Vince happier about the choice you made to move there. And it helps if the friends are husband and wife!
Judy Laquidara says
Yes, and they have bees and a nice garden and live on the water where they fish.

And Vince! Having 2 friends right in the neighborhood – lots of changes in Missouri!
Judy Laquidara says
Yes. It means I have to wear a bra and stay halfway decent at all times.

LOL!! I totally understand. The construction of a house across the road from us is finished and occupied now. I have to remember to put shorts on when I get up…oops!!!!
