Yesterday Vince and I ran in Hobby Lobby for something he wanted. Yes . . HE wanted.
Addie seems to bring somethng every weekend for me to fix. Once it was a torn sleeve, then it was the hem out of something. This week, it was a romper they bought and it was missing a button. She’s so funny. I told her I didn’t think I had a button that matched. She said she didn’t care if it matched. The button is right in the front – four buttons and one of those is missing.
I’m sure I have something but finding it . . not happening. We did go searching through a few boxes in the sewing room. I found a bag of buttons but it was novelty buttons. One had a chicken on it and she thought that was perfect. NO!
I did find these sparkly pink buttons at Hobby Lobby but the large ones are too big and the small ones are too small. The small ones won’t stay buttoned and the large ones are too hard to squeeze through the hole. I could zig zag over the button holes to make them smaller, or even make them larger but . . I’ll just buy the right size buttons before I see her next weekend.
But, the whole point of this post . . Simplicity and Kwick Sew patterns are on sale (at least at our Hobby Lobby) for .99. There’s a limit of 10.
I picked up this pattern to make her a dress. The regular price is something like $14.99. Who in their right mind . . well, that’s a bit strong .. who would pay $15 for a pattern, then have to buy fabric? But, I got the pattern for 99 cents. I may go back before the week is up and get a few more patterns.

Cute cute cute! Those dresses run up so quickly on the server, too, once cut out. She’s gonna love that! And they’re fun to make. Great job finding it for .99.

I probably would have moved the top button down to the missing one, and put the chicken button at the top. Or done the same with the too-small sparkly buttons you got and just make the top buttonhole a bit smaller. There’d still be a mismatched button, but at least it wouldn’t look quite so random as if it were in the middle of the others.

I am totally amazed at how much patterns cost nowadays! I have patterns that I use over and over again for certain things and I was looking and the one that I used for my husband a lot with $.85 back in the day!
When patterns are on sale I will buy a few if there are some that I want. I refuse to pay what they’re selling for now.

It has been so long since I bought a pattern, I almost choked when you printed the original price!! I may need to go look at them as well!

Isn’t that crazy?
