I have to stop watching floss tubes. Or, I have to give Vince my credit card. Just in case . . I memorized the number! 🙂
Have all of you stitchers watched Carol . . Saltbox Stitcher? She cracks me up. Vince gets aggravated at me because I’m sitting here with my headphones on. He’s doing something else across the room (often sleeping!) and I start laughing. That really frustrates him.
Here’s a funny headphone story. Last night I had my earbuds in (noise cancelling earbuds I might add!). I stopped the video to tell Vince something but left the earbuds in. Then I went to another website but was still talking to Vince. Some ad came on and there was shooting. Oh, my goodness. It sounded like guns blazing coming through our front door. I guess the look on my face . . Vince said “What’s wrong?” That’s when I realized there was an ad with machine guns going off in my ears. Whew! That scared me.
Anyway . . Carol at Saltbox Stitcher . . she is one of the most prolific stitchers I watch. She’s been stitching for a while but I love everything she’s done. A lot of it I don’t want to stitch (mostly because she does big things and I know I’d never finish those) but I’d love to have them already done. I was showing Vince her wall and I said “See how neat this looks! Sometimes when there’s that much stuff on a wall, it looks cluttered but hers looks so neat! I want a wall like that!” Vince said “OK . . we can do it.” I said “But I don’t have anything finished!” He said “Write her and see if she’ll send you some. It looks like she almost has too much!” Right. “Dear Carol: Can you please send me a dozen of your best already stitched and framed samplers? Thank you! Judy”
We’ll see where that gets me!
But here’s the problem. Everything she shows . . I want it. I had to go back and catch up on her videos and I watched five of them them yesterday. In those five videos, she probably showed 100+ projects – either finished, started or charts she wants to start. I don’t think I had a single one of them. I kept stopping the video and putting them in my cart, then switching some to my wish list so I could buy some of the ones I wanted to buy now. Oh, my . . it is not going to be pretty when all these packages start arriving.
The good news (for me . . Vince won’t see it this way) is that everything I ordered plus everything I wanted to order and didn’t . . way, way less than Honda repairs! 🙂 That’s not funny. I should wipe that smile off this blog post!

I’m curious…do you just like samplers or are there picture type pieces you like also?
Judy Laquidara says
Mostly I like samplers, especially the antique reproductions. I also like Americana type things, patriotic mostly but that’s about it for me.

How much enjoyment is there is stitching alphabets over and over? Not something I’d choose to do. We are all different.

In my opinion, I’m making “x”s all day long. It doesn’t matter if it’s the alphabet over and over or red x’s to make a huge house, green x’s to make grass . . it all just boring little x’s but you’re right, we’re all different. I could stitch antique samplers all day and the biggest parts of most of those are the alphabets.

Comparing the cost of your cross stitch to the cost of repairing the Honda made me laugh. Years ago, my brother-in-law and his friend bought an airplane – a Twin Beech. My sister said, “I’m set! I can buy anything I want for the rest of my life!
