Poor Vince! He decided today was the day to transplant that tree in front of the breakfast room window. The former owners had the same tree there and it got too big so they had it removed and a smaller one planted, which is going to get too big, and we don’t want a tree right in front of our dining room window.
It wasn’t long before we bought the house when they planted it so we’re hoping we can transplant it and it will survive. I say “we” but I was taking pictures. That’s my contribution to the job.
Vince got the hole dug where we’re going to plant it. There’s so much rock in the ground. He was talking to the neighbor and they said their yard is the same way.
He got the root ball free but it’s too heavy for him to pick up by himself so tomorrow, he’ll get Chad to help him move it to the new location. Don’t even comment on the dead looking sticks in the background where Vince trimmed back whatever that was. We’re taking everything out of this bed and we’re going to put some pretty containers in there, and in those containers, I’ll have kitchen herbs. In the corners we’ll probably have some taller but not overwhelmingly large plants that bloom. At our house . . it blooms or it’s edible or it doesn’t stay!
Vince did a lot of hard work today. Tomorrow, except for moving that tree when Chad is here . . may be a day of rest for him.

Digging in ground with so many rocks is so hard. I’ll bet Vince was tired!
