Why do I even make plans? Because I love making plans, even knowing I’ll never follow them 100%.
For cross stitching, the plan is to work on Farmhouse Christmas May 4 – 7. Friday is the 7th. On Saturday I should start working on Bless our Land. Since Addie will be here for the weekend and I’d rather work on Farmhouse Christmas in the floor stand in the breakfast room while she draws. I already said all that.
So, I decided to spend May 6 and 7 working on Bless our Land, then spend May 8 and 9 working on Farmhouse Christmas, then back to Bless our Land on May 10 and 11, then I’d be back on track.
Last night I got Bless our Land out. I did not have two of the floss colors so I got my DMC book out, looked to see what was close and I have nothing that would be a great switch. So . . change of plans. I pulled Catharine Dickenson 1840, checked that one and I have either the called for floss or the DMC equivalent so I’m going to spend today and tomorrow working on that.
I have the called for floss (Picture This Plus Ale) but it’s a rather large piece so I was hoping to use something smaller.
Above is 32 Count Light Mocha.
Above is 32 Count Heroic.
I probably like the Heroic better but it’s 17 x 25, where the Light Mocha is 13 x 18. According to the calculator, I need a piece that’s 14 x 14.5″. That’s with 3″ on each side. The 13″ side will give me 2.5″ on those two sides and I’m fine with that so long as the piece actually measures 13 x 18. I haven’t measured it yet.
So, the plan is, as soon as I get my morning chores done, I’ll start stitching on Miss Catharine!

I started a new project yesterday too. It’s the Teresa Kogut Newcastle Bouquet one. I worked on it for about an hour, and moved the magnifier away to flip it and look at the back. When I flipped back to the front, oh my, that 40 count linen is really tiny, my worked area was about the size of a postage stamp. This is going to take a while.

But you will have it done in no time! I have that chart too and I want to make it some day! Good luck with it.

I love both choices so either way you can’t go wrong.

Love your fabric. I have Catherine Dickenson ordered I think.
