First off, I know cross stitching isn’t a race. It’s something we do as a hobby and this isn’t competitive stitching but there are so many things I want to stitch and the only way I’m ever going to get more things done is if I stitch faster and devote more time to stitching.
I love the the Cross Stitch Journals and Tracking Sheets at Stitch All The Things. This is an amazing blog and, though I understand why, I hate that she stopped blogging and sharing.
When I first began building the linen stash, I downloaded the Fabric Inventory Sheet and that has been so helpful. I made a sheet for each count of linen.
A couple of days ago I downloaded the Yearly Stitch Tracker. I understand that some stitchers don’t give a flip about how many stitches they take each day and, in the long term, I probably won’t either but I want to track it for a while just to see what I’m doing so far. If any of you track your stitches daily or weekly or even every now and then, I’d love to hear how many stitches you stitch per day and if you have a goal per day.
I’ve only tracked two days and, as you can see, did 145 stitches on Tuesday and 221 yesterday. I know I can do more but there are only so many hours in a day. Yesterday we went to town twice. As far as I’m concerned one trip to town a month would be just fine. Soon, we’re going to have a talk about my trips to town!
Anyway, for now, I’ll track my stitches and hope I can come up with a way to increase the number of stitches I’m taking.
Thy Love Divine has 9,404 stitches. At 145 stitches per day, it will take me about 65 days to stitch it. At 221 stitches per day, it will take me about 43 days to stitch it. At 350 stitches per day, it would take me about 27 days to stitch it. That isn’t a big piece! I’d be happy with 350 stitches per day, knowing some days there will be less but probably few days would I do more.
Again, it isn’t a race but there are at least a dozen charts I really want to get done soon (within the next year!).

While it is interesting to track daily stitching number, personally I would rather take the time spent on tracking number of stitches, etc. to do more stitching. JMHO and I know we are all different in our thinking.

It’s all tracked by the program I use. Takes no time other than writing down the numbers at the end of the day.

Stitch All the Things has a weekly Flosstube! She quilts too.

I kinda looked but didn’t see it. I’ll have to look again. Thanks!

My husband likes to eat lunch out but he doesn’t want to go until about 2p. It’s messing with my quilting time. He’s about to be on his own for lunch.

Don’t worry about how many stitches you do per day. That could make you feel bad and could make you not want to do it any longer. Just enjoy all the stitches you do and not worry about how fast you do them. When I get in a hurry is when I make mistakes.

I’m not worried about it but would like to know just to track it . . kinda like knowing how far I walk (which is easy because that would be ZERO), how many carbs I eat per day, etc.
