This is a long story but I think it’s funny!
I’m in an online cross stitching group and it’s mostly southern MO/northern AR people but most are from the Springfield/Branson area. One lady I’ve become online friends with and I’ve asked her a few cross stitching questions. This morning she said something like “Why don’t you come spend a day with me sometimes and we can stitch together?” I just want to watch a really good stitcher do her work so I can learn from her. The friend who invited me over lives probably a little more than an hour from here so I was thinking once the scary spring weather is over, I’d plan a trip to visit her.
Later in the day, she wrote me and told me about a good friend of hers who does amazing cross stitching and she lives in my town. The friend said she’d send her friend a note, gave me the lady’s Facebook info and suggested I contact her.
I first googled her to see if I could figure out where she lives because there are only a few places I can get without getting lost. I don’t mind getting lost . . as I tell Vince . . I always get found. But honest to goodness . . I can walk to the end of my driveway and see their barn. I pass her house every time I go to town! I wrote her and told her that the other lady had given me her name (though the other lady had already written her and told her I’d probably be writing her). I told her I am new here and I googled you and I think we’re neighbors! I told her where we lived and she wrote back and said “That is too funny! We are neighbors!”
She called and I guess my phone didn’t ring and she left me a message. She said “I have to tell you I am not a housekeeper so be warned . . my house will be a mess!” I cracked up because I was already thinking . . I hope she never wants to come over here because this house is a mess!
I called her back and we talked for a while. She also told me that she has plantar fasciitis so she hasn’t been doing much . . I have plantar fasciitis and I haven’t been doing much. So much in common already!
She thought I was just wanting to get started cross stitching. She told me she had some kits she would give me to get started. I told her . . no . . I have plenty. I just want to watch you stitch.
I was telling Vince . .
Me: I told her I have plenty of my own stuff.
Vince: Yes . . you’ve bought everything in the store!
Me: How did you know? It all came before you got here??
Vince: I know how you operate!
Funny Vince!
Anyway, we didn’t set a date to get together but I’m hoping we will be able to do so in the next couple of weeks. Oh . . she weaves too! 🙂

Oh, my gosh, Judy, this could be the beginning of a long friendship! I have, a few times, had a quilter who lived nearby and it was always so much fun to get together.

Ff cross stitching altogether, but what do you do for your planter faciitis looking for other treatments.

That is wonderful news! Maybe the other lady can come over and the three of you can work together! Kind of like our knitting group here.
