Blackbird Designs are some of my favorite . . and not just because the stitch along is happening this weekend! 🙂
I had heard so many floss tubers talking about things made from the Ooh la la book. It is “samplers and projects with a French flair!” There are 15 charts/projects in the book and I’d love to make at least half of those.
Here are a few of my favorites:
The one shown above is Her Fair Works and it’s 9 x 6 done on 32 count fabric.
The one above is A Bit of Spring and it is 12-7/8″ x 8-7/8″ done on 32 count fabric. It calls for 13 colors of floss and I think I have 9 or 10 of those. That could be one I work on this weekend.
This one is Deux Oiseaux (which means two birds). This is probably the one I should do. It takes one skein of floss. No color changes. I have the called for red but I also have two different silk reds. At this point in my slow cross stitching, something I can finish and get framed is probably what I should do. It would be 7-1/8″ x 6-5/8″ done on 36 count.
One more that’s a real possibility – Ma Chere Louise (My darling Louise). This one calls for two colors and I have them both. There’s just one spot where the second color (a pinky red) is used – in the middle of the middle flower.
I’m quite sure I couldn’t get two started and finished over the weekend, even if I started on Friday, but if I finished one, I could start a second one.
We’ll see . . lots of time to change my mind between now and then.
