When Addie leaves after having been here Friday through Sunday, I’m one tired Granny. I don’t know why – she really plays by herself quite well, entertains herself and other than playing a game or two with her, helping her with her reading and letting her cook some with me, I don’t do anything out of the ordinary when she’s here. I probably don’t sleep as well when she’s here because I do get up and check on her a few times.
I always fix dinner for them on Sunday and they come here and get her. Today I made a pot of black beans with sausage, fried tater tots and Vince grilled burgers so dinner wasn’t a big deal but I’m ready for bed and it’s not even 8:00 yet.
Chad said “We want to spend a weekend with her!” The nerve of those two! <G> So, as of now, the plan is that she stays home with them next weekend. According to Addie, she’s going to a sleepover at a friend’s the next weekend, though Nicole said that’s the first she’s heard of it. So it could be three weeks before I see her again.
I never mind having her. Anything Vince and I do as far as going out, we mostly do during the week when it’s less crowded so staying home, maybe going out to eat or getting food from Door Dash is all we do on weekends.
I’ll miss Addie and I’ll miss spending Sunday afternoon with Chad and Nicole but . . they have a life too and I hope to get lots of stitching done next weekend for the Blackbird Weekend SAL.
For the rest of the evening . . our sheets are in the dryer so I need to get those put on. Otherwise, I’m going to just sit and stitch!

I know what you mean, but it’s a “good tired”. We got up early on Saturday and drove 90 miles to watch 2 of the grandkids play soccer. Froze our tushies!! Then had lunch with them, played Go Fish with the 5 year old, and did a little shopping with my daughter. We stopped to see the other grandkids on our way home, and just sat in their back yard watching them play while we chatted with our other daughter and son-in-law. I was so tired when we got home that I was in bed by 9:00, which is about 3 hours early for me!

You’re right. It’s a good tired. So glad you were able to spend time with your grands and their parents.
