My friend from Brownwood always said that if it thundered on February 20, it would freeze on April 20. I went back and looked and as far as I can see, it didn’t thunder here on February 20 but it’s going to freeze tonight – our low is going to be 28. Nelle tells me it did thunder in Brownwood on 2/20 and it is going to freeze there tonight.
This is what it looked like earlier this morning.
Look how green things are getting here. Vince told me it was supposed to stat snowing at 8 a.m.
By 8 a.m., we had no snow but the sky was looking like we could get it.
By 8:06, it was snowing but I couldn’t get a good picture of it.
There was a little on the bed cover of the old pickup. It’s in the mid 30’s and everything is warm so it’s melting on top of the pickup, on top of the trash, on the driveway. No snow is sticking ut it’s been coming down steadily for about an hour. If it was cold out there, we’d have a bit of accumulation.
You can see that it’s hazy looking and that’s because of the snow falling.
There is a little accumulation on the deck and grill cover. Proof it’s really snowing! 🙂
Probably the last snowfall we’ll see til late fall or early winter so I’m enjoying the view while it lasts.

I’ve been out covering tender seedlings this morning in Northwest Arkansas, sposed to be 21 tonight. My tomatoes have blossoms and I hope not to lose those. Anything else is on its own. Sigh. Also, it’s COLD out there. I’m in to stitch and probably cook today. We may get a dusting, so we’ll see. Enjoy the hopefully last of the snow, I do love it. Just not when I have tomato blossoms. 😉

I understand that. Here, I’m not planting anything in the ground til after Mother’s Day. We have most of our plants but they’re in the garage tonight and tomorrow night (last night too because we didn’t want to be bringing them in while it was snowing).
Good luck with yous. Hope they aren’t damaged.

Our low tonight is supposed to be 28 and we are supposed to get some snow. Yuck!

It’s 37 right now in OKC with wind chill of 28. Tonight’s low is 33. Yikes! Yesterday, I was at Lake Texoma in 75 degrees. Rain is in the forecast for Thursday and Friday.
I’ve resisted buying annuals, just perennials which are on the covered porch. I haven’t planted them since I wasn’t sure exactly where I wanted to plant them in the bed. And, they are big plants, so I’ll be dividing them before I plant. They look small the first year, but by the fourth year, I’ll have to divide again!

82 in my part of Georgia today, nice sunshine, got out and washed all the yellow pollen off the car as I have to take hubby to the doctor tomorrow, does yellow pollen count as southern snow? It sure was heavy on the car…LOL
Judy Laquidara says
When it’s that thick, you know why so many are suffering with allergies. Good for you for getting the car washed! Not so sure about southern snow but it’s as annoying as snow to most folks this time of year.

I hope it doesn’t set your spring flowers back. One year, I took my students to Albuquerque and Santa Fe for a year end trip. We had to stop in the Santa Fe Goodwill to buy sweaters and jackets because the temperature dropped like a rock and it started to snow. That was May, but not all that uncommon there, I guess.

The weather here has been a bit crazy this Spring. Today the sun was shining but there were snow flakes floating down for a few minutes. Later it got more cloudy and started snowing hard for about half an hour. It was just warm enough that there was no accumulation. Now it is almost 7:30pm and the sky is blue and the sun is still shining. It’s supposed to freeze again tonight.

It was really chilly here today. I think it was in the 50’s after the cold front came through. Tomorrow the high is only supposed to be 56. I am so glad I did not already plant those flowers I bought Saturday!! It is supposed to start warming up after tomorrow. I guess then we will be back to our Texas weather.
