All weekend I kept wanting to start a new project. I’ve said before that I’ll never be a one project stitcher. Some days I’d like to be but the thrill of starting something new almost always wins out. Last night I went to bed wishing I had started a new project so this morning, I was up way early, thanks to the obnoxious chirping just outside the bedroom door, . . but mostly because I’m excited that Vince will hopefully be here this evening and a bit nervous about him making the trip in that old truck. When we moved to MO in 2011, I was nervous about him driving the old truck then and now, it’s 10 years older but . . he has his own ideas about things.
So, this morning I got up, did a few things and then started on Thy Love Divine from Hands Across the Sea Samplers.
I didn’t get much done but started the center border. I think this one will be pretty quick once I get that border all counted and stitched. I’m using 40 count linen and finished it will be 6″ x 10.55″.
I bought the pdf when it was first released in January (I think it was). A month or so ago, I found a place online that had silk thread kits so I ordered the Soie d’Alger thread kit. There are three or four different silk threads I want to try . . just to say I tried them and for these “little gems” from Hands Across the Sea, the thread isn’t terribly expensive since they don’t take so much.
Since today is the day Vince is coming and we’ll finally begin our “new” life in MO, I thought today would be a good day to start a romantic little sampler.
There’s actually some pretty easy stitching on this one so hopefully I can get it finished and framed before Valentine’s day, 2022!

Excited for you that Vince is on his way. I’ve never been a one-project cross stitcher or quilter, and I refuse to count my UFOs. ;-). Retirement is 1.5 years away and I know I’ll never be bored, what with finishing projects and starting new ones.

I agree and resisting the urge to start a new project can require way too much energy and fortitude!

When I saw the title to this blog post I thought, wow Vince got there fast! LOL

I really like this sentiment/chart.

Tht’s very pretty, and must be the brighter colors you were talking about dabbling in.
I wonder when you’ll have time to get back to it, once Vince (and then the rest of your belongings) are there!

For now, all that comes to the house are a fridge and upright freezer, which will go into the garage, a chest of drawers that goes in Vince’s office and a recliner for the master bedroom. We’ll get a few boxes from the storage building and bring them here to unpack but it won’t be an overwhelming amount to do at once.
