A comment about buying Easter candy reminded me of our “candy tub”. The house in Nevada, MO had a jetted tub. It was larger than an average tub but not big enough for two. You know how Vince is with bargains. After every holiday when candy was on sale – Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, Christmas and everything in between, Vince would buy bags and bags of candy. Since we never used the tub, the candy got dumped in there and it was about 2/3 full of candy. We started calling it “the candy tub”. I do like candy but I like sugary stuff – Smarties, hard candy – not so much mushy in the middle stuff and very rarely will I eat chocolate.
When Vince wasn’t home, Chad and Nicole would raid the candy tub for their favorites. As we were looking at houses in MO or sending Nicole pictures of houses online, she’d say “Oh! A candy tub!” By then, Vince had figured out that we were laughing at the candy he stashed in the tub.
In this house, the tub is huge. It’s plenty big enough for two and probably three people – not happening. If it wasn’t for those glass brick windows, I’d have that tub removed and put a giant shower there, take the shower out, which is in its own little room, and make shelves in there for towels and toilet paper storage. That’s not happening either but, the tub is NOT getting filled with candy. I was thinking it might be good for yarn storage though.

Vince had his candy tub, now you get your yarn tub. Sounds fair to me! 🙂

Nice, healthy yarn candy! Sounds like a good idea to me.
Oh, wait, do you really want Vince to see your yarn every day??

We have a similar tub, in the twenty years we’ve lived here I’ve used it once. I have all my orchid plants in and around it, giving it a function. I never considered a candy tub, I don’t have much restraint when it comes to sugar, so I have a candy dish.
