Chad and Nicole are coming for dinner. They’ll take Addie home with them. I’m so tired today, I don’t think I’ll even feel lonely when I come back in the house without her . . but maybe I will.
Last night she kept talking and talking and she wasn’t ready to go to bed so I told her I was going to bed. The doors were locked and she could stay up as long as she wanted. I knew she wouldn’t stay up by herself. I was trying so hard to stay awake til she was asleep so I could hide the eggs and put the Easter basket out. I think I fell asleep, woke up, figured she was asleep, walked by her door and she said “Granny, where are you going?” Dang it! I told her I was going to see if the clothes in the dryer were dry. Went back to bed, waited a while longer and decided I’d ask her a question so I couldn’t get caught hiding eggs. I didn’t turn her light on but I said “Addie? Addie?” She didn’t answer so I knew was sleeping. I was going to ask her if she had put her tablet on the charger. Since she didn’t answer, I put candy in the plastic eggs, hid them and went to bed but still woke up way too early.
I say I’ll go to bed early tonight but I haven’t been able to stitch or knit since Thursday so I’ll probably want to stitch a it and there’s never an end once I get started.

Anway — Easter dinner was pretty easy. I baked a ham that we had in the freezer, made twice baked potatoes, cooked carrots, made a salad and made the strawberry pie.

Now I sit and wait for dessert. 🙂

Nice dinner! I remember those days. For the first time ever, I forgot to get the boys Easter Bunny chocolate!

These holiday dinners, drop by visits, Addie for the weekend . . exactly what I’ve been missing!

On Saturday afternoon my husband stopped in the kitchen and said, “Do we have enough Easter candy?” I said, “I don’t know. How much is “Enough’?” He said I don’t know either. Later on he said, let’s go to Walmart and get some marshmallow candy (Peeps). He loves peeps and I totally forgot them this year, maybe because I didn’t ever see any. So we came home from Walmart with loads of candy but no peeps. It’s nearly all gone now, except for the tiny cadbury dozen eggs I bought in the first place. No visitors to our house, so why we needed so much candy I don’t know.

I did get two boxes of Peeps because Vince likes those. Ughh . . I do not like cadbury eggs either.
