Last night Addie decided to clean her room. That girl knows how to clean. I went in there and she had everything clean and then she wanted to vacuum. She told me had to get it clean before the Easter Bunny arrived. I guess I looked at her funny because she said “Hide eggs, Granny!” Who knew the Easter Bunny hides eggs inside the house? We always did it outside but I lived in Louisiana and it wasn’t usually cold and definitely didn’t have snow at Easter. This year, I hear it may be cold in Louisiana at Easter.
Me: The Easter Bunny doesn’t come inside!
Addie: Of course he does. Where do you think he hides the eggs?
Me: He hides eggs outside.
Addie: (giving me this poor, goofy Granny look) Granny, he always hides them inside.
Me: The East Bunny in Nevada, MO must do things a bit differently than any Easter Bunny I ever heard about.
Addie: Call Jeremy! Ask him where the Easter Bunny lays eggs at this house.
Oh, my goodness. Now she’s telling me to “call Jeremy”. There’s rarely a day that I don’t say something or ask Vince something and he tells me to call Jeremy. I don’t, nor am I calling Jeremy to ask about the Easter Bunny but I almost giggled when she matter of factly told me to call Jeremy.
Who knew when we bought this house that the former owner would have answers to ALL my questions? 🙂

That’s funny! I’ve never known anyone to hide eggs inside! But, if it helps her to deep clean, that’s probably a good thing!

She’s a good cleaner. I think she thinks the Easter bunny is going to hide eggs in her Barbie house.

Funny!! We did hide eggs inside a couple of times when we still had lots of snow at Easter. My girls thought it was weird to search indoors.
Judy Laquidara says
We always used real eggs. Did they even have plastic eggs when I was a kid? Maybe that’s why we did it outside . . in case one got crushed or missed.

What happened to those hard sugar cream inside and colored sugar outside candy eggs about the size of an egg?
Denise says
Growing up the Easter Bunny hid our individual Easter baskets inside the house rather than hiding eggs anywhere.
Judy Laquidara says
I like that idea! I think I am going to take Addie’s advice and hide them inside.
Rebecca says
In Seattle, the Easter Bunny came inside! I suppose the weather was too “iffy” for outside.
Teri says
Too funny! The Easter Bunny hid eggs Outside when I was a kid?
Stephani in N. TX says
In NJ when I was a kid, the Easter bunny was definitely an inside job. Easter can occur from some date in March to late in April. Cold temperatures, rain, or snow could occur. Who would hide eggs outside for 5 kids to find. Br-r-r!
Dottie Newkirk says
Growing up, we always looked for eggs outside (Texas Panhandle), when our kids came along, they hunted eggs in the snow in Idaho, outside in nice weather in California, outside in Pennsylvania in all sorts of weather and when the grandkids came along, they hunted eggs outside, too. All these eggs were hard boiled.
When we moved back to Texas 7 years ago, the nieces/nephews hunted eggs outside including LOTS of hard boiled eggs and HUNDREDS of plastic eggs that were filled with all sorts of toys.
I decided everyone has their own things to do and the best things is the memories that are made.

I’ll bet that’s one question he’d have been thrilled to answer. =)

We had to keep our daughter’s Easter basket outside our home because as she told us when she was almost three years old “I really don’t want that rabbit in our house.”
Judy Laquidara says
That’s funny but remember Addie is the one who wants the chickens to live inside the house.
Christine says
When our kids were little at our first house we hid eggs outside the night before so as not to have to get up too early. The next day we found the crows had eaten half of every egg we hid. Egg hunts were inside from then on.
Judy Laquidara says
Oh, no! That must have been a surprise.
JustGail says
When we moved out of town, hiding eggs became an indoor only thing. Raccoons were happy the first year we lived here and hid them outside :-O
Bon says
Our Easter his or eggs inside her in Michigan.
Karen Blankenship says
We hide them outside and inside. We have to be careful with the outside because Easter is frequently too hot and the chocolate melts! Easter baskets are always hidden inside the house. My mom always does an egg hunt at her house for the kids on Holy Saturday.
Judy Laquidara says
True. Even in SW Louisiana, I never remember hiding eggs inside and it was always real eggs but we threw them away once we were done hiding and finding them.
