My little Chromebook, which is my favorite computer except it doesn’t like crumbs under the keyboard and right now, it seems there’s a whole cookie sitting under the “H” because it will hardly type . . but . . anyway . . the Chromebook sits by my chair. The first few days the blog was down (at least for me), I would hit refresh at least every five mintues so finally, I turned it off and went and put it on the desk . . completely out of the room. So, I got lots of cross stitching done.
The February block, or Block 2, of Farmhouse Christmas is finished. I think this is so pretty and I love that there’s a cardinal in all the blocks except one (the center block).
Here’s a funny Addie story. The cardinal is the mascot for this area and, as I’ve said many times, the school down the road from our house, on their big sign where messages scroll across, one has the name of the school and says “Where little cardinals learn to fly!” I just love that and it aggravates Addie when I say it. When we start getting close to that school, she puts her fingers in her ears.
Sunday morning I was out with Rita and there was a bird out there and he was making the most annoying sound. I must have been out longer than Addie thought I should have been because she came out and she stopped in her tracks and looked to see if she could see the obnoxious bird. She looked at me like “what the heck is wrong with that bird?” and I made a funny face. In her sassy little voice she said “Probably a dumb cardinal learning to fly!” Funny girl!

I know I commented on this before. When you refer to the block and a month I assumed there were 12 blocks and each one was assigned to a month but I later realized that it was the month that was being stitched not that it applied to so I was thinking there were months missing because of that. I know I’m confused.

If you’re doing it, just do it any way you want. There are no months listed on the pattern. There are nine different charts. We started in February so that was Block 1 for those participating. March is Block 2. Honestly . . if you’re doing it, do it any way you want. Nine blocks in one month is fine. If you’re not doing it, and you need something else to stress about, email me. 🙂
