You guys! I don’t even know where to start. For those of you who have written – sent emails, wrote me on Facebook – you don’t know the joy it gave me to hear from you. There’s never a good time for a blog to lose it’s mind but with this being the week before the Texas house closing, Vince being stressed about getting everything done there so I couldn’t even cry on his shoulder . . it was a frustrating time. I keep telling myself . . I’m alive; I’m not sick; life is good . . in the overall scheme of things, the blog problem wasn’t the end of the world but I was frustrated and lonely and had no one to talk to and yes, I do feel like there are plenty of y’all sitting right here with me chatting every day . . even though that’s not how it really is.
I realize that many of you were seeing the blog and it looked fairly normal. About three weeks ago, I began having problems and they were kinda resolved but apparently not really. Last week, I couldn’t log in. I contacted the host and they reset everything and then I could log in again. I soon realized that once I logged into the blog administrative area on a device, then I couldn’t log back in again on that device. I only realized that after I had been locked out of the Chromebook, the cell phone and the laptop, which only left the iPad so I viewed the bog as a reader and never signed in.
Because it just wasn’t getting fixed and nothing seemed to be resolving the issue – because in the beginning, the lady helping me was able to log in and was telling me to clear the cache and history, which I did but it didn’t help. It was apparently after she logged out that she was getting the same error message I was.
That went back and forth for a couple of days. The blog lady and I decided that it was time to dump it all and start over. Thankfully, she was busy and couldn’t get to it right away.
I was spending day and night copying posts, mostly recipes, saving pictures of Addie, Speck, things that meant a lot to me.
In the meantime, I was chatting with Jo at Jo’s Country Junction and she told me that her daughter creates, updates, fixes blogs and one of Jo’s friends had a problem that sounded similar to mine and her daughter was able to fix it so I contacted the daughter – super sweet, helpful and FAST!
Jo’s daughter’s website is Ms Pins Media. She has a full time job so if you write her, be patient. I think she and Jo were feeling so bad that I was about to lose the entire blog that she helped me as soon as she could, plus she knew right off what was wrong.
Anyway, I’ll forever be thankful for Jo sharing my plight with her daughter, and them helping me. I was literally sick about the possibility of losing everything on my blog. I’ve been blogging for 17 years! I talk a lot so that was a lot of blog posts!
I’ve been making notes about blog posts I would have written if I could have so you’re probably going to be sick of hearing from me . . VERY soon! 🙂
One more thing . . I’m not being rude so please don’t take it that way. Things may not look exactly like they did before. Fonts may be different. Spacing may be different. Right now . . we’re going to live with it. If there’s something that truly isn’t working (like you can’t leave a comment, or pictures aren’t showing up for you), yes, I’d like to know that but let’s not be super picky at this point. We will get everything worked out and hopefully we’ll all be happy but let me get through the next two weeks with the move and the “stuff” that’s going to arrive and Vince and I learn to live together again after having not lived together for over six months. I’m not concerned . . if I can just keep my face from making “THOSE” expressions when things aren’t quite right around here. 🙂

I’m so happy that it’s fixed and how great is Kayla!! (I also follow Jo). I can’t imagine trying to copy and save everything! I did go to Facebook to check on you (didn’t see anything written that would indicate bad stuff other than the blog) and I felt bad that this happened at such a stressful time for you. Lets hope that everything is smooth sailing (especially the move) from now!
Judy Laquidara says
The bad news is that the mover came out today and again, we’re going to need two trucks . . we’re probably spending more to move stuff than it’s worth but hopefully, this is our last move.
Paula Nordt says
Thank the Lord! I was really missing reading about your daily exploits!
Judy Laquidara says
Thank you. I’ve missed everyone’s comments. That’s my daily dose of socializing!

So happy to hear your blog was saved and that you are back up snd running again! The week just didn’t feel right without hearing from you.
Judy Laquidara says
I can’t tell you how many time I thought of things to write a blog post about. I did make a list!
Liz says
Welcome back! I was getting worried, but my thought was that you drove down to Texas to help Vince, even though he said not to…. Good luck over the next few weeks, your life will be busy but, it will get better!
Be thankful…
Judy Laquidara says
I’ve offered a dozen times over the past few days and he doesn’t want me coming.
The blog was a mess and I’m not even sure (nor do I want to know) what all had to be done to fix it but it seems fixed so I’m happy.
Kathy says

Brilliant, so glad you are back, I too follow Jo. It’s the first time in my life I have ever follow blogs and the only two is you both. Obviously good taste! Oh I’m glad I am not the only wife with one of ‘those ‘ faces, that made me giggle.
I say to my other half better one of those faces than what I’m thinking or could say!!! Good luck.xx

Such good news!! There are people with amazing skills and we’re blessed when they come to our rescue. I couldn’t even imagine losing everything. I have mine printed and bound every few years so I have a permanent record, but your issues have reminded me that I need to do it again! So happy for you! It all looks perfect from here.
Donna Williams says
So pleased for you! What a miracle worker Jo’s daughter is – saving 17 years of your life is no small matter. Congratulations!
Judy Laquidara says
Thanks! Yes, Kayla is a miracle worker!
Denise M Russart says
WHEW! If you hadn’t posted anything when I logged in tonight I was going to email you to make sure all was well and it was just blog problems – which I assumed it likely was – but glad to hear nothing more serious. Prayers for Vince and his remaining packing and hope all goes smoothly with the closing and last of the moving.
Judy Laquidara says
Thanks! I’m very glad to be back and yes, I hope everything goes well in Texas and Vince has a safe trip here and he can just sit and relax til he’s rested. I know this has been hard on him.
Joan B. says
Glad you are back!

So glad you are back!!!

I figured it was an issue with the blog and I wasn’t going to add my concern to what I figured were lots of people asking. Glad you are back, because I missed you!
Rebecca says
That sounds exactly what I was thinking! I knew you had been having trouble with the blog. The idea of losing 17 years makes me shudder–wouldn’t you just start a new blog, and call this one “the archive”?
Judy Laquidara says
Patchwork Times, because of the years and because I talk too much, takes a lot of space and the average hosting account doesn’t offer enough storage and it gets a little expensive. I couldn’t even get back into the blog – not even to view it, once I logged out of the administrative area, so I couldn’t see anything. Eventually, without being able to update it, things would have stopped working for everyone.
Teri says
You’ve been missed! Glad you’re back! Good luck with the closing and the move too
Debi McIntosh says
I’ve missed you Judy, you are one of my morning rituals
Judy Laquidara says
That was the first thing I thought about every morning! People are waking up and they expect to see blog posts and there are none. But, as we all know the world continued to turn and life went on! Imagine that.
Marsha says
Yeah, I missed you. One less thing to stress about. Looking forward to new posts
Leigh Ann says
Can’t wait to catch up with all you have been doing. You have been missed!
Cherie Moore says
YAY!! You are back 🙂 You must have been sick thinking about losing your blog plus we all knew the house sale/final move was going on. Isn’t it amazing that Jo’s daughter had already worked your very problem? Cheers!!
Judy Laquidara says
Yes! It is so nice to have good friends, so many of whom I’ve never met in real life but who are always willing to help me.
Marcia :o) says
SO happy to see this back!!
Cinda Moulds says
Welcome home.
JustGail says
Good to see you back again, and Yay for Jo’s daughter (wish I could remember which one!).
As to your 17 years of information… sorry for my sketchy memory on this – I know I’ve seen bloggers that have had books made from their blog posts. It’s been a while since I saw that, so I don’t even remember who it was, let alone what company was used, or how much it might cost, especially as often as you post. It might be something to investigate. IF the worst happens, at least you’d have hard copy. OTOH, there’s also the Wayback Machine site that might have your old posts.
Karen says
I’m so glad you’re back! I usually save your blog to read on Sundays and I look forward to it all week-this Sunday just wasn’t the same!
I hope all goes well with the move and Vince is soon with you.
Ruth says
So glad that Kayla could resurrect your blog! As least you didn’t have to change the name of it, as happened with another blog. When you didn’t post after a day, I knew there was something seriously wrong and that you, being you (wanting to chat with us all) were working as hard as you could on it. Thank you for not giving up!! I look forward to reading many more posts!
Nancy H. says
Thank God you are back! I have missed you. I needed my Judy fix.
Julie says
I will add my “so thankful your blog is back up and running” to everyone else’s. Several times a day I would think of checking to see what you were up to, and then I’d remember your blog was down. You’ve been greatly missed!
featherstone26 says
Welcome back, Judy!
Laura says
Yay, you’re back!
Twyla says
Talk about withdrawal. Hope this doesn’t happen again. I need to read about you each morning. Not only do I like to chatter I enjoy your chatter. I think I need to get signed up again for the email to start back to me. Hope Vince has a safe and uneventful trip.
Judy Laquidara says
You and I both hope it doesn’t happen again. 🙂
Yes, if you aren’t getting the emails, you need to sign up again. I have no idea why it seems to have dumped half of those who were signed up but that happened with the first mess up about three weeks ago so I don’t know if it dumped more this time or not.
Carolyn says
I was wondering why I hadn’t heard from either of you! Jo and you!
Susan Nixon says
I’m so glad you AND your blog are on the road to recovery. =)
Judy Laquidara says
Thanks! I’m treating it like a fragile piece of crystal or something. I’m so afraid I’m going to hit the wrong button and mess something up though the problem was a plugin that decided my IP address was bad but it also decided anyone who logged in to the administrative area was bad.
patti says
SO nice to see you here again, you have definitely been missed! now i have some catching up to do…
QuilterBea says
Missed you – I don’t ‘do” Facebook so it’s been lonely without your blog.
Therese says
Glad you are back on board, Judy! Just catching up. Is there anything that can be done about all these flying popups though? Gosh they are annoying and hard on the eyes!
I don’t remember there ever being so many, nor that they were so active and able to be exactly in the way.
So happy to hear that every day brings you closer to being truly settled in with Vince!
