Vince has the upstairs area of the shop completely cleaned out and he said he found three or four spots where Cat would sleep and hide out. There was a box of old towels up there and I knew she liked sleeping up there but Vince said he came across other places and wondered how on earth she ever maneuvered her way into some of them.
I think she’s pretty aggravated at us . . so many changes for her.
It hurts my heart that we have to leave her. I don’t think I’ve ever worked so hard to become friends with an animal as I did with her . . for at least five years. I know leaving her is the right decision, especially with the issues I’ve had with Boots. Vince said the new owners, especially the lady, seem really happy to have her.
Vince put the box of towels back up there but and is leaving it but Cat will probably still want to find new hiding places since the new people will bring different stuff up there and everthing will have changed. I asked Vince to make sure they know to leave a few places upstairs so she can find a good hiding/sleeping spot and to remember to check to make sure she isn’t locked in the shop if they leave for a few days. Vince bought an extra bag of cat food to leave so they’ll see what she’s used to eating.
Vince said Cat walked by him to day and he said “Where you going, Cat?” He said she looked at him and he could almost hear her say “I don’t hear you!” She’s so independent but so needy. Any time we’re outside, she would go sashaying by, just to make sure we saw her but yet she would totally ignore us . . pretend she didn’t see us and act like she didn’t hear us.
I’m so thankful we’re not leaving the house empty and she’ll have new residents the same day Vince leaves; and I’m happy they seem happy to have her. She’s not a hard cat to have around, unless you expect loving from her! She’ll be fine without us but I’ll always remember her and her cazy cat attitude.

That IS good to know that there will be a continuation of her care. She’ll probably take a while to get used to the new people (to the extent that she ever gets used to people; in other words–a little), but they well serve as an audience as well as you and Vince!

Glad the new folks will continue caring for her. New beginnings for all.

I’m glad they want her too, I wouldn’t mind a totally independent cat….But I don’t want to live w one! I didn’t realize you had sold the house! YEAH! always stressful putting a house up on the market.

Yes, we sold it on the 4th or 5th day but had to put the closing off a couple of weeks because of the movers’ schedule.
