It’s so funny/weird how things happen. As I mentioned, I really hadn’t been ordering much but it all must have shipped at once . . some things from several weeks back because I posted that I got a ton of packages on Monday. Yesterday I was out picking up sticks from my favorite river birch trees <G> when the mail man came down our lane and he yelled out at me “You’ve got no mail!” I said ok and waved and went back to picking up sticks.
This morning I checked Informed Delivery and no packages or mail today and it shows no packages or mail for tomorrow too. Things sometimes change but isn’t it weird that everything came on Monday and nothing on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday? Feast or famine I guess.
Speaking of river birch trees, I’m kinda concerned that the grass cutter may show up and all those limbs and twigs aren’t picked up. The first thing the grass cutter told us back in the summer is “Jeremy keeps the sticks picked up!” Well, Jeremy isn’t doing a great job of keeping the sticks picked up now! 🙂 With Vince not here, I’m in charge of picking up sticks and with ice and wind and more wind, it’s about too much work for one old granny. I’m trying but I don’t think the grass cutter is going to be happy if he comes before Vince gets here and I have a feeling the grass cutter will be here next week or the week after. I think I’ll just stay in the house with the blinds closed and maybe he’ll think I’m in Texas.

Where we live, all the mail is delivered in trucks. If there is a big storm and the roads are closed around us, then we won’t get any mail for several days in a row, depends on how long the road is closed. With the recent storms, maybe that is why you haven’t received mail for a couple days?

I think that is why some landscaping articles I have read do not recommend river birch trees… they shed lots of limbs, even in just regular weather. I haven’t even begun picking up limbs and such after the ice storm here. It’s going to be a big job!

It’s a trade off. They’re so pretty, I don’t mind picking up the limbs but without Vince here, I am not burning them and I don’t have the pickup to haul them away so I am getting a pretty huge pile!

We are only getting our mail every 2nd day here in Sydney. Due to Covid there have been far more parcel deliveries, so the postie has to work in the parcel office when he is not delivering
