This year, I think Mother Nature is seriously angry at Texas, and I’m hoping she isn’t angry at Missouri and Louisiana today. Vince went to bed early last night and at almost 11 p.m., I saw on Facebook that a weather alert had just been issued for his area of Texas:
A few cities included: San Angelo, Abilene, Brownwood, Mineral Wells, Gainesville, Denton, Fort Worth, Dallas, Waxahachie, Cleburne, Hillsboro, Waco, and Temple. The strongest storms may produce hail a bit larger than the size of a golfball and straight-line winds up to 70 MPH. Isolated tornadoes are also possible in stronger bowing segments of the squall line tonight.
I called him and, of course, woke him.
Me: Is your pickup under the carport?
Vince: No!
Me: There could be bad weather so you may want to put it under there.
Vince: OK. I’ll go do that now.
Me: And make sure you can hear the weather radio if it goes off.
Vince: OK.
I don’t care so much about that old pickup but I don’t want the windshield getting broken by hail. It’s his only way to get from there to here! Of course, I would go get him if I needed to but I definitely don’t want to make that trip.
We have a 6 bay carport there and I’ve never understood why he didn’t park all the vehicles under the carport . . ALL the time!
I haven’t heard from him to see how bad the weather got. Chad may have some of it in Louisiana too. The worst for us here in MO is about to start. It is that time of year.
