Because I talk about them so much, I feel like many of you feel like you know Chad, Nicole and Addie. Here are some photos Nicole posted from their trip yesterday.
I think this one might have been taken just as they were backing out of my garage. Addie was so excited to be going to see my uncle. When they weren’t sure if they were going to get to go, she was sad and I told her “I know you want to see him but if you don’t get to go, you can stay with me next week and we’ll do some fun things.” She said “I know but I REALLY want to see him!”
It’s nice that there are so many ways to entertain children in the car these days.
I’m guessing this happened before they were even out of MO.
I do not like this road. It’s very hilly (mountainous in my opinion but probably not to someone who lives with real mountains). It’s curvy, narrow and no shoulders. I’ve only taken it when I was going to Louisiana from MO with Chad and every single time I’ve taken it, the fog was thick as pea soup . . and it looks like yesterday was no exception.
I’m glad they made it safely and I know they’ll have a good time. Chad will get to fish. They’ll take Addie to the Gulf one day. They’ll go to Lake Charles for a couple of days. Tony’s Pizza, their favorite pizza place, is back open after the hurricanes, but I’m not sure how many other places they like to go will be open. No matter . . they’ll have fun.

That’s great! Maybe I would sleep nicely in the back seat of a traveling car … or a bus, perhaps! I did that as a child, and the sounds of a big motor like that are a soporific. =)

I’m sure they will have a wonderful time. It is fun to see pictures from their view.
