There hasn’t been much of anything going on around here today. I woke up at 4 a.m. with a headache and should have gotten up and taken something then but I didn’t. It isn’t like I’ve ever been addicted to medication or felt like I might become addicted . . I’ve never really had to take anything but I have a serious aversion for taking any kind of medication and about 9 times out of 10, whatever ailment I have that makes me think about taking something . . will go away on its own fairly quickly.
It’s the weather here. It is so windy outside. Yesterday was windy and dusty and smokey! We have red flag warnings but I heard about several fires in the area and farmers burning fields, which I know is necessary and I’m not complaining . . but my allergies and sinuses do not like it!
When I went out with Rita this morning, it was so windy and big, noisy leaves were blowing and she was so scared. All she wanted to do was run back inside. I finally took her by the side of the house so the house was blocking the wind and we were able to get her business done.
But . . back to the headache because I know everyone is so anxious to hear about that (NOT)! I went back to sleep after waking at 4, slept til 5, got up, took a shower, got dressed, fixed breakfast and the headache was there but not hurting terribly. By about 8, it was hurting so I took one aspirin and went to bed. I probably slept 15 minutes and Vince called. We talked for a while, I tried to go back to sleep but couldn’t so I got up about 9. My head was better but by noon, it was really hurting and I was starting to feel a bit sick so I took another aspirin, went back to bed, but I didn’t go to sleep. I made the mistake of facing the plastic drawer unit that holds the cross stitching supplies so I was thinking about everything I want to make and then . . I realized the headache was gone so I got up and fixed myself some lunch.
I wanted scallops and didn’t want to cook them inside so I did those outside.
Lima beans and coleslaw with the scallops. That was a great lunch!
Maybe I can sit down and stitch now . . without a headache!

This might not help at all, but when I feel a sinus headache starting, a cup of peppermint tea helps me.

A heating pad is what soothes a sinus headache for me. If pain is really bad, Excedrin really helps me.

A lot of times I can use metholatum on my nose and a sinus headache will go away. I just hate it when I do not immediately take meds when something happens to me. And I know within 20 minutes the Advil brand sinus med gets rid of h/a and sinus pain. At night I will get in bed and think now WHY didn’t I take something and then end up having to get back up later. Then the meds won’t go down so here I go to sit in my chair for a while. Aging is NOT for the weak.
