Vince has talked to the buyers about Cat and they’re happy to care or her. Vince said the wife seems really happy to have her and they understand she’s not friendly and has a really . . I don’t know . . cat attitude. Cat is really aggravated at Vince right now. He’s been cleaning out the upstairs and most of the places she likes to get in to hide and sleep are gone. No matter where Vince is working outside, Cat will make a couple of trips passing right close to him but she totally ignores him . . just making sure he sees that she’s ignoring him.
He went to town yesterday (and probably the day before that and the day before that) and he bought another big bag of cat food. He said he’ll probably have half a bag to leave for the new owners but wanted to leave another full bag so they know for sure what kind of food she likes.
I think Vince is more attached to Cat than he will admit but it sure feels good knowing the new owners will take care of her. Vince is going to leave the cat tree he built or her and the sleeping quarters he made for her, as well as the setup and heat lamp for keeping her warm.
We will miss that grumpy old girl but I have a great feeling about all we did for her and how much progress we made with her from that first time “I think I saw a black cat” to her sitting and waiting for Vince to come feed her and letting him pet her first thing every morning. I’m glad I was able to catch her and get her more vaccinations and get her a good checkup. I’ll always remember her and what a funny, weird cat she is . . but I guess that’s the nature of most cats . . funny and weird.
Speaking of cats, Addie wanted to know if we could let Boots out. I explained to her that Boots had not been nice and I was afraid he would bite Addie. His teeth are so sharp and when he bites me, I don’t move a muscle and firmly say NO! a couple of times and he lets go but if I yanked my arm away, I’d end up with some serious wounds. There’s no way I’m going to risk him biting Addie and she doesn’t want any part of that either so she won’t get to play with Boots this trip. I’m sad for both of them but just not taking a chance.

Not my place – not my cat – but I am so relieved that the buyers understand about Cat and are willing to take responsibility for her!

Happy to hear Car will be cared for.

Me too. I was really concerned for her but she wouldn’t have survived a week at our new location. It wasn’t like we brought her to our house and abandoned her but I wasn’t willing to miss out on time with Addie because of a hissing feral cat. I think the new owners will continue to work with her and she’ll soon forget about us.

Boots had been on my mind. You hadn’t mentioned him in several days and I wondered if the situation had improved. Sorry to read that Addie won’t be able to play with him.

Nothing has changed. We went down to the sewing room today and she played with him a while but once he started putting his ears back and twitching his tail, we left him alone. I’m hoping once Vince gets here, he’ll change.
