Grab some cheese because there’s a whole lot of whine in this post! 🙂
I’m not whining about the green beans because I totally loved getting them and I love canning but canning 26 quarts and almost 36 (or so) pints in two days was a lot of work. I went to bed Wednesday and Thursday nights with every bone in my body aching. There have been a few nights in the last six months when I’ve gone to bed super tired and woke up for the first time about 9 a.m. I was so hoping that’s what would happen today. I didn’t have anything to do, nowhere to be. An Amber Alert came through on my phone at 4:16 a.m., woke me and I never went back to sleep.
Addie loves staying up late and sleeping late at my house and one of the first things she said to me was “Do we get to stay up really late?” Sure! Not much I wouldn’t do to make her happy so I hope I don’t fall asleep while we’re playing Clue tonight!
Obviously there was no cross stitching happening Wednesday or Thursday. Today I did laundry, washed the sheets on my bed and Addie’s bed. I couldn’t remember if I had washed them last time she was here and who doesn’t love clean sheets. I can’t really say anything else I accomplished except it wasn’t cross stitching or knitting.
No doubt I won’t get much done this weekend but spending time with Addie is what matters most so I’ll be happy to do whatever she wants to do and I can cross stitch next week.

Thanks! This is only the second time I’ve seen her since Christmas and I miss getting to see her every weekend. They are so busy and around so many people, I’ve felt like I should keep my distance but a granny has to do what a granny has to do . . and hope for the best.

Our oldest son and oldest grandson were coming over today to move things and get my electronics fixed up. Late yesterday I learned that a ‘little person’ would be accompanying them. The last time that little guy was here, the cookies were not where he had always seen them in the past and his disappointment was very real. You know I was up before 7 a.m. to have Great Grandpa’s usual recipe of peanut butter/oatmeal cookies ready for him today! It’s what we do for those wonderful “grands”! Enjoy your weekend!

That was so sweet. Those are memories he’ll have forever.
