There are two things that I learned in Texas that I will never forget and they make me laugh every time I think of them . . though I wasn’t laughing about it when I lived there.
First, it’s a good thing I didn’t cross stitch in Texas because every single little piece of floss that ends up on the floor, no matter what color or what size . . it looks like a scorpion. Look at your thread scraps that end up on the floor – pink, yellow green . . it doesn’t matter. I’m sure there are mutant scorpions. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve stopped in my tracks or took a giant step over something that sent fear through me . . only to realize it was a piece of thread.
Second, when living with scorpions, you learn that if you feel something on you, don’t ever smack the heck out of it . . slap it away from you. Growing up in Louisiana, it was almost always a mosquito so we smacked them but you want to knock a scorpion off and not smack it because you’ll definitely get stung.
I don’t think MO has scorpions and if they do . . please don’t tell me!
