We have a moving date! The final move will happen the first week in April. We’ve rented a couple of storage units in MO for the contents of the shop til Vince can get a shop built at the house.
We do have a contract on the house. We have a closing date. The buyers had wanted to close in about 2-1/2 weeks but were agreeable to working with us due to the movers’ schedule and storage units being available, plus Vince still has a lot to do.
I’m trying not to get too excited because I know with anything on this scale, it isn’t over til it’s over but it looks like everything is going to work out. I have managed to not make the announcement, even though we got the contract Friday. I knew the date for the movers could be an issue since they need a whole week free to move us. The buyers are excited and anxious to get in but I’m thankful they are working with us.
Please pray this all goes according to the schedule, the old pickup makes the trip ok, all the packages of stuff I have ordered arrive before Vince gets here and I can clean, organize and consolidate so it doesn’t appear that I’ve taken over the entire house and there’s no room for Vince! 🙂

FANTASTIC!!!! I am so excited for you both. Beginning the next chapter together at last. 🙂 Prayers and lots of crossed fingers and toes.

Woo!! Great news.
Donnalyn Dahlin says
Congratulations, I am so happy for you both that this LONG journey will finally be concluded. The Farm house Christmas is beautiful! Almost makes me want to take up cross stitching, but I don’t think these arthritic hands are up to the task…..sigh.
Sue Edberg says
Congratulations! I am so glad that things seem to be moving along and Vince will soon join you in MO.

Your experience was similar to how my parent’s home sale went when they moved from Dallas. Their realtor tried to convince them to raise the price by $10,000, but they wouldn’t do it. They had 3 offers at their asking price within the first 5 days. 🙂 Nice that yours seems to be going so easily!! Hope it stays that way!!! Congrats!!
Liz says
Congrats..
BTW – how is your sewing room coming along? I know you make some comments every now and then about the room. Are you waiting for some assistance in lifting and putting things together? I am curious as to the final room layout.
I also read that Walmart is stopping the $35 minimum order for delivery, so that should make things easier for you.
Judy Laquidara says
I wouldn’t expect them to drive out here for a few things, plus by the time I add on a tip, I don’t want to be ordering any more often than needed.
Sewing room is good. I’m in a bit of a holding pattern because I want to stack some totes in the hallway by the safe room but we’re waiting on a steel door to be installed so I don’t want to move stuff that would be in the way of that project, and I need the longarm put together so I can stack totes under the machine. Once I get everything put where it needs to be, I can go back and organize fabric by color and I need to get a few more lights for around the sewing machines.
In order to put the gas line in to the stove, the plumber has to go through the sewing room ceiling (drop ceiling) so I am keeping that area open. It will be a few months before I can take full control of the room and not have to keep things open for workers.
Donna Williams says
Yay! Keeping the prayers going. I’m really excited for you!

Woohoo! So excited for you. Things are starting to fall into place. I remember when you were moving to TX and all the house hunting struggles.
Marsha` says
Congratulations you must be so excited Vince will be here soon. Maybe Vince can plant the trees
Carol says
Great news! I had a feeling that you had received an offer but were remaining mum until everything was signed. Good luck getting everything where it needs to be before Vince arrives.
Judy Laquidara says
You know me too well! 🙂
Kathleen R Robin says
I am so pleased for you, I think the fact that you had water during the storm and did have power for most of the time would have helped sell that place. It will be so nice for you two to be together once again. Hope the new people will like that cat that will own them.
Judy Laquidara says
He had water because of the generator but he didn’t have power for most of three days. They do know about Cat and said they will take care of her. I asked Vince if he told them she expects her heat lamp on when the temp drops to about 40 and he said no . . he’ll go over all of Cat’s expectations later. 🙂
Phyllis says
Thankful that things are going well. Glad that you 2 will be back together soon.
Rebecca says
I’m glad that went well and quickly! Just one month to normal life! (I almost wrote normal love!?)
Judy Laquidara says
It is normal love too but normal love would have seemed weird in place of normal life but with them together, it sounds perfect!
Carolyn says
That’s the perfect description Judy! I’m so happy for you…thank goodness that this separation will be over soon! You’ll be back together and settling in before Easter!
Debbie K. says
Happy Dance News!!! You are a strong woman. Vince is a strong man. I’m thrilled that you have buyers. You had to know there was someone out there that could appreciate your’s & Vince’s vision. ???
Debbie K. says
Those question were supposed to be something else!
sheryl says
This is such good news!
Helen says
Oh, my gosh!, I missed this post. I have been waiting eagerly to hear this.
You, Vince, the buyers, the bank, the movers and anybody involved are in my prayers for a smooth move. And, of course that your packages arrive and get put away before Vince gets there!
Carolyn Sands says
Congratulations! Vince will there before you know it!
Cindy F says
So happy for you!! I knew the house would sell quickly! The buyers are so lucky to be getting the place with all the improvements you both made! So looking forward to hearing about Vince joining you next month!
Elizabeth Rodgers says
This is great. Can someone drive up with Vince when he comes home for good? Long trip and old truck like you said. So exciting, so wonderful.
Judy Laquidara says
No. It’s a long way. He’ll be fine. He’s not going to drive it all in one day.
karen says
Congratulations! I’m so happy for you and Vince and not at all surprised the house sold so fast. This is definitely a sellers market.
Sandi B says
Yes, yes, and yes!! We’re ready to help in any way possible!
Amy Frances Makson says
How exciting… sending good thoughts and prayers your way!!
Bon says
Great news!
Susan Nixon says
Better stop buying, then. LOL I’m excited to have it nailed down for you. Texas moves into your past.
Andrea in MO says
Good news! I’m sure it’s nice to have an actual date, even if it could change a bit. I hope it all goes smoothly for you and that you can get back to being a one house family.
Judy Laquidara says
Vince has the movers scheduled and said even if for some reason, which we aren’t expecting, the house doesn’t close or the deal doesn’t go through, he’s moving anyway. He’s leaving enough stuff there that we can go back to “visit” if needed.
Twyla says
Whoop Whoop!! Vince is coming home!! Congratulations to you both. And the buyers will be getting in just in time to see spring break out and get a garden into great layout.
