My friends do not know how weak I am when it comes to starting new projects. My friend, Donna, sent me a link to a free chart she found by Brenda Gervais. It’s called May Day and, of course, I had to do it because I think it’s going to be quick, because it has flowers that I think are irises and because I can make those birds into cardinals. I asked Donna if she wants to do it together. She’s making me do it .. I’m making her do it.
I got in bed last night, and then I thought . . I want to pull colors so I got up. I had another reason for getting up but I’ll write about that later.
The colors aren’t really true because this was a late night photo with not so great lighting.
The fabric I’m using is 36 count Antique Ivory.
The colors I plan to use are:
Basket – Classic Colorworks Brandied Pear
Birds – Classic Colorworks Cherry Cobbler because I want them to be cardinals.
Border – DMC 869
Flowers (which may be irises) – DMC 3325
Leaves – DMC 3012
Letters – DMC 832
Special Letters – An unknown DMC apricot. I’ll try to match it up with my color chart. These will be the letters that our names start with A, C, J, N and V or Addie, Chad, Judy, Nicole and Vince.
Key and Year – DMC 3012
On 36 count fabric, the stitching should cover about 6.75″ x 8″.

That’s cute – and, it looks like you’ll have plenty of time to finish in time for May Day!

It’s always nice to have someone else to blame! 🙂
