Yesterday I shoveled a little spot for Rita because the snow was deeper than she is tall.
It wasn’t long before it snowed more and the wind blew the snow back in my cleaned spot and my clearing was full of snow. She wasn’t very impressed with my efforts any way.
With her being blind, it was like the edges where I hadn’t shoveled were like a fence to her. She’d walk into them with her nose and think that was a wall and turn and go the other way.
It’s a really dry snow so it’s not heavy and easy to shovel but, obviously, I didn’t shovel a lot.
With the fresh snow, I could see tracks where something had been walking around by the doors that go into the sewing room so that may explain why Boots has been so upset. Yes, he’s still biting. Once Vince gets here, we’ll set up a trail cam and see what we see.

Let’s see the tracks!!

I’ve already shoveled the patio so most of them are gone. I’ll go out after while and see if there are some in the yard and get a picture.
Donna in KS says
Any reason at all for footprints to be out there? Oh, I went back, you said “tracks”. I had some tracks in the snow. I couldn’t identify, husband could have. I do wonder though if it hadn’t been a deer, judging by the stride…like I know anything about that stuff. We have had deer run through the yard in the past though. I haven’t even gone out for the newspaper the last two days! Crazy cold and sons are so afraid I will slip on the ice beneath!
Judy Laquidara says
The ones in the picture with that post are my footprints from walking out there. There were prints that I think are a cat. In the front (if you saw that picture on FB), there are deer tracks.
Nelle Coursey says
You could be right in your assumption of cat! Put something in the windows so he can’t see anything about the size of a cat. He can still look out but not at the ground??
Judy Laquidara says
Half the windows are ground level because it’s part of the basement. The bottom of the window is almost on the ground.
