Vince is moaning because it’s fixing to be cold there. I wasn’t feeling sorry for him at all.

Then I looked a little farther ahead. Saturday night his low is going to be 11. That’s low for that area. I think it was winter before last that we had three nights in a row in single digits . . after the peach trees had started blooming.

Here’s what yesterday and the next three days look like for me.

Ice, ice, ice and more ice! Who wants to take Rita for a walk? At least I don’t have to worry about getting the mail!

That’s what yesterday’s packages say and I am not complaining. There are no packages worth those delivery folks being out in the roads in the condition they’re in now. I think they stopped delivering mail shortly after 1 p.m. yesterday. I don’t know if they’re even delivering in town because from what I heard, the roads were a mess everywhere. It just drizzled and froze all day yesterday. They’ve canceled schools all over the area again today and my guess is . . there will be no school all week and if not, I think that puts the kids making up days until close to June 1 . . maybe after June 1.

The ice ends on Thursday but look at our Saturday temps. The high is 12 and the low is -8. I’m not sure I’ve ever had temps that low . . maybe, and I just don’t remember.
When I talked to Vince last night, he said “Oh, it’s so warm here. It’s almost hot!” I told him “Same thing here in the house but it’s costing you big bucks to keep it this nice and warm!”
It’s a good thing I like winter. I was telling a friend yesterday that I’d be happy to have winter, spring, winter, fall and just skip summer and even with the ice and these temps, I haven’t changed my mind about that.

I am just the opposite, I could skip winter and have the other three seasons.

I just looked and our highs for Sunday and Monday are in the 20’s with 11 degrees overnight for each night. That is too cold for here! I know I am a wimp and it could be worse. I remember in the late 80’s (when we had all the fires downtown) we had 2 weeks of ice, snow and below freezing temps! It was COLD!! But I hope this is cold enough to kill all those dang bugs that are such pests!

I saw those temps. That’s cold for there for sure. It sure would be nice if it killed some of the bugs there.
