Last night after finishing the cross stitch project, I was going to load Pet All Dogs on the stitching frame.
You won’t be surprised but I couldn’t find the pattern! I could find the fabric and the floss, together in a bag, but no pattern. I searched everywhere. Then I decided I must have accidentally put it in a project bag with another pattern so I took out all the project bags and looked through them. Nope – not in there. Over and over I went back through every pattern. I looked under my chair. I looked in the breakfast room in case I took it in there to look at while eating. I looked in the room with the printer in case I took it in there to make my working copy. Nowhere! I decided I must have thrown it out accidentally. I had cleaned up a lot of padded envelopes that had been stacking up but I really thought I was careful to make sure I wasn’t throwing anything good out.
It was after I went to bed that I realized . . I took Pet All Dogs downstairs with me to use while making my project bag since it’s one of the larger patterns I have. I ran down there and there it was . . on top of the cutting table. Remember .. I had been working on that project bag when the window guy called and wanted to come over. I had to race upstairs, shower and get dressed and never thought about that pattern again. I waste more time being careless with where I put things and not being able to find them.
At some point today, I plan to get started stitching on this one.

Don’t feel bad. My entire life is spent trying to find things I’ve misplaced…story of my life. Thankfully, you found it, and that’s the important part!! Enjoy the stitching!! 🙂

Sorry! I have no empathy, mostly because I rarely misplace anything and my husband does it all the time. Countless times we have been late to things because he has to find something. In the summertime, I just head outside and pull a few weeds when he is frantically looking for something. I refuse to waste my time helping him unless I know where something he is looking for is and I can get to it quickly. Eyeglasses, keys, to-do list, letters to mail, etc., etc., etc.!

At least you remembered! I have spent a lot of time looking for things I put in a “safe” place….lol. Best thing for me is to put things where they belong but that doesn’t happen when things get shifted around because of renovations. My goal is to eventually have a place for everything and all containers labeled. No telling when that will happen but I can dream!

When I can’t locate something something I “just” had in my hand it irritates me, but it happens so frequently I’m beginning to understand I need a time out so a few more brain cells will join what few are playing along. No, retracing my steps doesn’t help.

That is the way I do everything! I finally had to buy the Knitting Book from eBay in order to finish my sweater I started about 3 years ago!! I guess I threw the pattern out! Can’t believe I did that but I guess I did!

I feel for you! I am working on Winter Ride, large pattern in two pieces. I couldn’t find top half. Had it night before when had everything laid out to get started. I was dumbfounded. I wanted to go through recycle to retrieve it certain it was there although had copies. My husband said let me look at what you have. Well there it was under the paperwork that was in foreign languages (to me) Ugh! One hour wasted. Good luck Judy!
