I stitched a bit on each piece using the DMC B5200. It is a brighter white but I can’t tell that it makes much of a difference. These are night photos taken with not so great lighting so they aren’t the best photos.
B5200 was used on the last two on the left side.
B5200 was used on the last two on the right side.
I’m not real sure what I’m going to do but I want to be stitching on this piece.
At this point, I think I’m going to take the lazy way out – the gray (Portobello) fabric is in the frame so I think I’m going to continue with that one and used the Bamboo. It shows up as well as the B5200.

DMC has 3 whites Blanc, B5200 and 3865. Put something white behind your piece of fabric and see if the white shows up a bit better. When your lovely project is finished it’ll probably be stretched for framing on acid free white foam board. Just a thought!

I prefer the gray fabric. The other is too brown-looks tea dyed. I have some antique cross stitching we picked up in New England around 40 years ago that we had framed and love. I can take a pic and email it to you. I have done embroidery and lots of needlepoint, have knitted, made clothes and still love to quilt. Need to learn to crochet. Have not knot in years (since high school) and am now 75 years old. Love handwork!

Either of these look great but I think in the different light the brownish color looks better! LOL
