When Nicole was here, I was showing her my cross stitching. I make a working copy of the charts and enlarge them quite a bit so I can see them, printing the on cardstock because they take a beating during the time I’m working on a project. I make notes on them. Notes about the project or stitching go on the front, notes about the grocery list, recipes, things to add to my to do list, things to tell Vince, etc. go on the back.
The working copy of A Good Marriage had all kinds of notes on the back. As I think of something, I jot it down because I’m fairly confident I’m not going to lose this paper for a few days.
This is the bottom corner – the “V” means things I want to talk to Vince about. I want him to bring the shower curtain from one of the bathrooms in Texas. I figured he was going to toss them but one is nice and not very old. I wanted to know where the extra downspout drain plastic is so I can add a piece to a drain that’s causing some erosion. I keep getting text messages that the a/c filters need to be changed in Texas. He said he has changed them but didn’t know how to reset the thermostat reminder so I explained that to him. It looks like some of the stuff (ink and starter cartridges) for the printers may arrive tomorrow. I didn’t know if he wanted me to try to deal with it or if he wants to walk me through it.
But, as I was showing Nicole the paper, Addie started looking at it. They’re reading the Harry Potter books together and she’s all into it. She looked at me with a funny expression and said “Does this have something to do with Harry Potter? I told her no, it’s all cross stitching. She said “I think this is some kind of code and it’s part of Harry Potter!” She turned the page over and started trying to read my notes. She said “I think you might have figured out the code” I wanted to tell her . . don’t ever count on me figuring out anything!
By the way, don’t think the box that says “collards and whiskey” is for my grocery list . . that’s floss colors I need to order.

I did wonder about that “whiskey” notation…

Collards and whiskey would make an interesting meal! 😉 You might not remember it later, though.

Right now, I think I need that for dinner! 🙂

LOL, children are so funny! Your title on your previous post made me laugh. Good thing I knew what you’re doing.

She is so inquisitive. And that is a good thing! She needs answers to her questions and who else could she ask except grandmother?
