Pet All Dogs (and there’s a cat option in the same pattern) is by Teresa Kogut and I seem to be really drawn to her designs but when I first saw Pet All Dogs, I knew I had to make it.
The other day a blog reader, Tracy, mentioned that she was going to start it and I asked if we could do it together. She started hers yesterday and I’ll start mine as soon as I finish A Good Marriage.
If I recall correctly, and I probably do not because I’m not looking at the pattern, the sample is done on 35 count linen and the color may be flax. I have no 35 count fabric but I do have 36 count Summer Khaki Linen (unless something better arrives before I start).
Oh, wait! I just looked to see what I have coming. I have 35 count linen in Tin Roof that should ship Monday. That is what this sample is done on. Do I wait . . which is going to put me at least a week behind Tracy or do I use what I have??
I spread the floss that I have out on the Summer Khaki linen and I think it looks fine. I don’t want to risk being too far behind Tracy to never catch up and she’s probably faster than I am anyway so I think I’ll use what I have.
What appears to be red in the chart photo is actually very dark Shell Pink (DMC 221). I want mine to be red so I’m using Weeks Dye Works Cayenne, which is a good match to my dining room red.
As of now, I do not have beige nor do I have DMC 3032, which is Mocha Brown medium but I’m hoping they will arrive soon. If not, I’ll just sub something else and be happy with it.
I’m anxious to get started but aren’t you proud of me for waiting til I finish the current project? I’ll still have Farmhouse Christmas going at the same time but I’ll probably always have more than one thing going — just hopefully not as many WIPs as I have for quilting and knitting.

I am using a 32 count linen, called graceful gray. I got the Weeks floss back in July, but not the DMC. I was able to find the DMC colors, 221 and 3032, on amazon earlier this week, they cost me about five times as much as normal, ugh. The 221, dark shell pink, looks like brick red to me. I’m sure your cayenne will work too. I started in the middle which is the house, those tiny stitches don’t cover very fast. I have two windows done, about a square inch. I’m sure you’ll catch up quickly.
