If I had known then what I know now, I would have gotten a reclining sofa for upstairs. There isn’t enough room in my chair for me, a cat, my stitching piece, the floss card, the chart, the phone and whatever else ends up in this chair.
One thing for sure, whatever I’m doing doesn’t seem to be bothering this cat.
Look at him . . snoozing with his paw resting on the arm of the chair . . taking up way more than his share of space in this chair.

Well, it’s going to be awhile before Vince shows up. Decide what you really want in this space and buy it! Maybe add a small table beside the chair, buy a reclining loveseat, you are a good problem solver.

There’s no more room for furniture in this room. Everything in here is new and my favorite recliner is being moved from Texas so what I have here is what I’ll keep. I do have a reclining loveseat in the sewing room but it has a console so it isn’t going to be much better. I also have a table next to my recliner upstairs but half the time, Boots is on that.
We’ll make this work.

What a wonderful life boots has!

He’s such a good kitty. I think he’s realizing that he’s in OUR space now whereas he thought the sewing room was HIS space and when we’d stay there too long, he would start biting us. He’s only bit me a few times here. A couple of nights ago, he hopped over on me and bit my knee hard. That hurt and I squealed and I think that scared him so I hope that’s the end of his biting. He’s been here two months and that was only the second time he bit me where he bit me almost daily in Texas.

I have been around lots of cats, and cats that are declawed will use their teeth instead of the claws that they no longer have. Ergo-declawed cats are biters. I think they bite when they want something. What they want is never clear but they get your attention, that’s for sure.
Judy Laquidara says
Oh . . didn’t know that. Boots has back claws but that makes sense that they would use their teeth without claws. Sometimes (maybe wishful thinking), he gets on my lap and he’s being so affectionate and then he bite and I wonder if it’s just a love nibble or if it’s . . fooled you . . I really don’t like you at all! 🙂

Boots just looks so happy!

Boots loved you for sure! Will a sofa fit in your space? Go for it!

Judy Laquidara says
It will not. Even the love seat that’s in the sewing room has a console because I bought it for the apartment and figured Addie and I would be snacking while sitting on it so it has the cup holders and the center that opens out for storing my knitting project. I never thought of having Boot sitting on that with me. There is a sofa downstairs and I’ll probably sit down there and stitch more once Vince is here because he hangs out down there (TV).

He’s training you well!! 🙂 LOL!!

Get one of those things that goes over the arm of the chair that holds remotes and anything else you want to stash there.

I don’t know if you follow Bonnie Hunter, the quilter, or not, but she posts pictures of trying to hand sew bindings with a dog and cat in her lap. Very cute but not conducive to getting much done.

besides one of those organizers Nelle suggested, I wonder about one of these –

not affiliated, but have thought about getting one
Judy Laquidara says
I have something similar. I’ll take a picture of it today. Thanks. I may get one of those for the downstairs sofa. I don’t have a table by my chair there.
