Boots & The Laser Light

A Journey vs. A Race

I never did find the laser light I bought or the one from Texas so I ordered more. That is one thing Boots will play with for about 3 minutes, then he reaches out and tries to grab it with his paw but doesn’t chase it. If I stop for 5 minutes, he’ll chase it again.

After just a couple of days, he knows I keep it in the entertainment center by my chair so when I reach over there for it, he starts looking for the light. For a cat, I think he’s kinda smart.

That’s him looking at the light when I retrieved it from the cabinet.

Saturday night I made him sleep in the sewing room. He was not happy. As I was carrying him downstairs, he knew what was happening and he was trying to get down before I got him in there. Yesterday I think he was determined to stay upstairs so instead of going down and sleeping all day, he stayed near me. I used the laser light to get him to play probably 20 or more times. He had to be more tired than usual so I let him sleep upstairs and he slept like a rock (or maybe that was just me and I didn’t notice anything going on) til thunder woke us all up at 5. I got up to check on Rita and no one went back to sleep. Maybe it was all the laser pointer activity that tired him out or maybe it was just one of the nights he slept through the night. Maybe on the days he’s more active, he can stay upstairs and on the days I hardly see him at all because he’s downstairs sleeping, he’ll have to sleep in the sewing room.

I’m not going to use the laser til about 3 and then I’ll use it often. I don’t want to do it all day and have him get tired of it.

If you start using the laser light too early in the day, not only will he be tired of it, you will too! LOL
