Poor Boots. He was so used to having his own schedule with few interruptions. I knitted in the sewing room a lot during the daytime because I could listen to music in there but by dark, I was back in the house and he as free to do whatever he wanted.
The last few nights he’s gone down to the downstairs bedroom and slept on that bed. I’m not sure why he likes that bed so much except maybe that I used a big flannel sheet to cover the comforter so he’s not on that. But, he won’t go to bed til he thinks I’m getting ready to go to bed.
Last night he was ready to go to bed way before I was but he stayed right next to me til he was sure I was going to bed, then he went downstairs. I didn’t follow him but I’ll bet he’s asleep on the downstairs bed and if I don’t go downstairs and disturb him, he’ll come upstairs all sleepy eyed about noon.

I think he is way happier being with you and hanging out together.

I think he is too but some days (yesterday was one of them), he goes somewhere and stays out of sight all day so he still likes his space. I can count on him coming up about 10 p.m. and sitting with me a few hours. Other days, he’s like a shadow . . right under my feet all day.

I keep a flannel sheet over the top of the quilt on our bed. Our cats sleep with us and sleep on the bed during the day. It is way easier to wash a flannel sheet that to wash a quilt when it has cat hair on it. I think the cats like the flannel too.
Nelle Coursey says
I think he may be happier than he has been in his life! He has a huge warm house that he lives in now and he has the run of the house.

I’m pretty happy having him inside too . . if I can just get the allergies under control. It was a bit unfortunate to have cedar pollen before I’d managed to tame the cat allergies.
