Boots has completely taken over the house as his own. I do believe he’s done a great job of adjusting.
At first when he started having the run of the house, he would go back downstairs to sleep in the sewing room after visiting with us a while.
Then, he found a comfy spot on the bed in the downstairs bedrom.
Next, he was sleeping somewhere upstairs and I couldn’t find him. It had to be in our closet – probably in a knitting bag or on a shelf behind something. I searched several times and always thought I heard a bit of movement but never could find him. That tells you more about the sad state of our closet right now than it does about Boots’ ability to hide.
I just walked into our bedroom and found this:
He looked at me like . . why are you in here? Can’t you see I’m trying to sleep? Good grief, Boots!
I told Vince . . next thing you know he will have taken over the entire house and you and I will be living in the sewing room!

You do know with a dog you are the master but with a cat you are staff!!!! AND it’s so true!!!!

If you get groceries in paper bags now you might want to open one and leave it out for Boots, I did that today for our cats and they loved it!!!!

My cats have the entire house but NOT our bed. And truly, they are never on it. They shed and the quilt is black/red/white so I can tell they don’t go there. You CAN break him of it if you start now. 🙂

Isn’t it amazing how cat allow us to cohabitate with them in their house? They are the masters in their universe…

I have a sign by the back door that says “it’s the cat’s house, we just pay the mortgage”.
