The Yarn Thief!

This morning I was sitting and knitting, thinking my ball of yarn was in the chair with me when all of a sudden Boots came flying across the room and stopped right under my feet. I began feeling around in my chair for my yarn, already feeling certain it was on the floor.

I got up to get it from him and he looked at me like . . what’s your problem?

He is so much company . . until he isn’t.

Yesterday was one of his days to sleep all day but yet he wanted to go to bed when I did so I let him in and that lasted all of about 15 minutes. Did I tell you about the crazy dream I had the other night? Forgive me if I’ve already mentioned this. When we go down the stairs, we’re heading out to the downstairs shop. Then we turn left and go into the family room. There are two recliners, side by side with a little table between them, and a sofa , and a TV and a few other things. I dreamed that I went downstairs in the middle of the night and there were two men I didn’t know sitting in those two chairs. Now, every time I go down there late at night, I’m afraid to look over at those two chairs but I have to walk right by them and even when I don’t look at them, I keep waiting for someone to say something to me. I am such a chicken.

So, at about 1 a.m., I ran downstairs and walked very briskly past those chairs, put Boots in the sewing room, closed the door and went back to bed.

Today he’s being a crazy cat. He just jumped up in the chair, bit me on the arm and took off. He can be sweet but he can be a devil too!

Boots needs some cat toys!!!!!!!!!! Our cats love to play with them. Keeps them entertained.

He has toys and he doesn’t seem interested in them, even if I play with him. I think for him, it’s more of a matter of trying to aggravate me and he knows grabbing my yarn gets a quick reaction.

I want to laugh at Boots’ antics – we had a cat that would do the same thing, be extremely loving and then all of a sudden “nip”……cats are DEFINITELY unpredictable.

Our cat’s favorite toy is a laser pointer. You have to move it around but cats love to try to get the red dot. Tires them out well.

I think he wanted you to chase him! He was just playing mom!

A tennis ball might do the trick, round like your yarn. Plus you can kick it and give him something to chase/ wear him out. Just be careful not to trip on it yourself.

You’re right! Thank you for that idea. If I order tennis balls from Amazon or Walmart, Vince will see that order and is going to be impressed . . thinking I’m exercising! 🙂

I think he’s probably ready to do a bit of outside exploring. He’s been there now long enough to know it’s home. Has he been microchipped? Imagine him outside when he sees snow.

We’re too close to a road with way too much traffic. don’t think he’ll ever go outside unless on a leash.

My husband says “Brain Damage,” and shakes his head whenever the cats act crazy like that. It’s our running joke.
