There were two major parts of my room setup that were missing. I have four or five of the large thread racks that I zip tie to the ends of the fabric shelves. When Vince was here and we got the fabric shelves set up, we began looking for the thread racks. We used wardrobe boxes for fabric on bolts and for those thread racks and, because I wanted to get the bolts of fabric put up before I started putting the folded fabric put up, I had unpacked all the wardrobe boxes. For the life of me, I could not find those thread racks. I knew exactly where they were in the stack of boxes in Texas but they were just gone . . couldn’t find them anywhere. Vince had decided that the movers had lost a box or two. I kept saying . . I think I saw them but we searched every closet, behind every stack of stuff . . and there are lots of stacks. I halfway remembered that they were jammed down in a big box together and I couldn’t pull them out and couldn’t separate them to get them out one at a time. But, did that really happen or, when we were in Texas and Vince was stuffing them in a box, maybe I was thinking . . I’ll never get those out. I can’t remember. When Addie was here before Christmas and we tought we had lost Boots and was looking for him, I found the thread racks, wedged up behind a big piece of furniture in the downstairs family room.
The second thing missing – a box with parts to the longarm. When Vince was here, we wanted to get the longarm put together. We started and wait . . where are the small parts? Not in with everything else. I was there when Vince took it apart but I didn’t remember putting parts in two different containers.
Vince was telling me he put those small parts in a plastic tub with a teal colored lid . . just like the one above but smaller. We do have smaller ones like that but we looked in every one we found and nothing had longarm parts.
This morning I was in the sewing room working and . . I wonder what’s in this box.
The rest of the longarm parts. I put that box on the bookshelf behind the longarm. Can y’all help me remember that? By the time Vince gets back, I will probably not have a clue where I put them.

Write LONG ARM on a big piece of paper and tape it to the side of the box 🙂

You were looking for a teal lid – and the pink one just got ignored. LOL I agree with the previous comment. Put a paper label on it with tape. But don’t do like I did and put the tote back on the shelf with the label facing the wall.

You are describing the joys of moving! LOL During one move I left a box that was marked large purses as one of the last ones to deal with. I didn’t think I had that many large purses, but I didn’t need any purses, so I didn’t think much about it. I then needed to go on a business trip and couldn’t find the luggage I wanted. The large purses was my luggage. 🙁 When other pack, you never know what is really in the box. I found a flower arrangement inside my decorative milk can. LOL I packed some items and found towels used a packing material around items. Moving is so much fun…..not.

I still have my 2nd grade report card that says “Cilla is always losing something which she always manages to find”. So please then tell me where my Dear Jane Embroidery USB stick and envelope is!!!!!! Sigh. 21 more to go on the border so I’m at a standstill.

Don’t you hate that! I can’t tell you where it is but I can tell you that I do the same thing ALL the time!

Tape a note to the large long arm parts that says where the small parts are, the large parts should be harder to lose!

I’m always putting things in a safe place or a place that makes sense at the time and then when I look for something I can’t find it. Of course when I do find it I always think, oh yea, I remember that! I am so looking forward to organizing my two sewing spaces. I needed room so I took over the basement family room since no one uses it. But….I had to clear out all kinds of misc things and now I have more areas that need organizing! I keep telling myself one step at a time, one step at a time.

I’m glad you found the missing parts. The local tech will not come to my house to help me with the Lenni, so I have asked the QOV coordinator, who has a 15-year old Millie, to come see if he can help me figure out why I can’t get the thread to stop breaking. Wish us luck tomorrow!
