For those worried about the breaker, last night I talked to the guy we bought the house from, he gave me the name of the electrical company that wired the house when it was built, this morning I called them and they’ll have someone out Thursday morning.
He confirmed that if the breaker is off, there’s no power going to it and it can’t start a fire. What I’ve been doing is turning the breaker on to vacuum, then having to go out and re-set it at least once while vacuuming, then turning the breaker off when I’m done vacuuming. I just vacuumed Saturday so til Thursday, I’ll bring up the vac I bought for the sewing room and use it . . no reason to risk a fire when I have the other vacuum cleaner to use.
I’m thankful that it’s a breaker for something I can actually do without. It wouldn’t be so nice if it was the water heater or the fridge, or something that’s essential.

I don’t blame you for not being upset. And I am glad you kept your other vac because you never know when you will need another one.
