Cats really are entertaining, much more so than dogs in my opinion.
Boots sounds like a herd of elephants coming up or going down the stairs. It’s so funny thinking back to how cautious he was on the stairs when he first got here and now he goes up them as fast as he can.
Yesterday I was sitting knitting (probably ripping back!) and I heard him coming up the stairs . . full speed and he ran around the corner that leads to our bedroom and Addie’s room but both those doors stay closed to keep him out. I thought . . I hope he stopped before crashing into a door. Then, here he comes . . back down the stairs as fast as he could go. It was just a few more minutes and he came running up again. You can walk around the stairs and where you go down is the end of a “U”. He ran all the way around the stairs . . made a circle and went back down again. What is wrong with that cat?
My yarn ball had fallen on the floor so he grabbed it and was playing with it! That’s one thing he would play with all day. I wonder if it’s because it’s soft but yarn isn’t good for them to play with because they could eat it.
Last night he was tired. I thought . . good . . he’s going to go to sleep early but nope, he got up and was all energetic again.
He’s so sweet and he really is good company.
Notice his paw on the computer screen. I hope he knows I don’t like cats and he’s lucky he has such a great personality . . not sure that makes up for all the sneezing and itchy eyes but he’s ours and we’re keeping him.

Yep, cats are DEFINTELY amusing/entertaining. So glad Boots (as well as Rita and Cat) found y’all.

We have a loft here at the cabin. My cat bolts up those stairs now/then. I think it’s their form of exercise! Entertaining for sure!

Cats really are way fun to watch.

Look at those magnificent whiskers!! He is a beauty and is acting pretty much like every cat I’ve had – alternating between lazy naps and crazy play. Then as they get to be geriatric, the nap time takes over and they don’t play as much.
Judy Laquidara says
What age is considered geriatric for a cat? Thanks!
Linda Garcia says
When our cats go racing through the house like that, my DH says that they have “brain damage” with a laugh.
Judy Laquidara says
I think he’s right! I kept looking at Boots last night thinking . . something’s not right with you!

i had a cat that lived to be 19. he developed diabetes and kept going into shock so didn’t live long after it was discovered. he was an indoor/out cat and i don’t remember when he slowed down — it was later in life.

Some cat people call that “the crazies.” It often seems to happen at night, or (ew, sorry) after litter box use.
Katherine says
My daughter calls it “the zoomies” when her cats zoom around like crazy.
katie peterson says
Yes that is what my sister calls it too. They “zoom” from room to room. All over the house.
